Pastor Aye Min Htun’s Testimony
I was born on March 15, 1984, in Hlaingtazar town. My parents are U Htun Kyi and Daw Tantan. I was raised Buddhist until my mother became a Christian. My mother was the first among our family to believe in Jesus Christ in 2006. Sometimes, my Mom told us about Jesus, but until 2010, I was a Buddhist. Pastor Aih Kham Ko came and shared the gospel with us. After two years of marriage, we had one daughter who had suffered from heart attacks since she was born. Many times, we had to bring her to the hospital, and we went through many difficulties and hard times. Believers were praying hard for my daughter and my family. After that, we experienced the goodness of God and His salvation. Praise the Lord. My wife and I believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior. Both of us were baptized in 2010 by Pastor Thawng Nei Bil. When I became a Christian, I felt that the Lord was calling me to be a witness for Him and preach to my people, so I became involved in an outreach ministry to non-Christians around us.
I attended an education program from Elementary to High School at No. (3) High School, Hlaingtayar Township, Yangon. I felt in my heart that I had a responsibility for my people, specifically those who did not know the love of God and the salvation of Jesus Christ. I have the vision to plant a church in the Yoo Lee area, Hlaingtazar township, where many non-Christians are living, mostly poor people. The Burmese tribe has the highest percentage in the area, and there are some small other tribes too. I have studied and prayed about this area since last year; my overseer, Pastor Thawng Nei Bil, came to investigate this location two times, and I looked for a house to rent. We found one apartment for rent, and I will be moving in January 2020. Please pray for me as I begin as a new church planter under the White Fields Ministry. Thank you very much. May God bless you all.
Recent Ministry:
There has been a lot of rain and flooding in our area for many days; some of my members’ houses were affected, and the flood spoiled food, furniture, and clothing. Among the many hardships, God is very good that we could continue our weekly worship service and prayer meetings. Praise His Holy Name.
In my outreach ministry, the Lord opened a door for me to meet some new non-Christian young men. They were Ma Ih Ih Pyew, Ma Inh Phu San, and Ko Maung Tin. I shared the gospel with them. These three young people were so interested in my gospel sharing that they also started to join our worship service on Sundays.
We are celebrating the testimony of a new believer. A widow shared, “I was in a very difficult situation; I had no one to help me. I used to harvest some water grass on the roadsides to cook it so I could eat it every day. My life was hopeless, and many times, I wished that I would die rather than keep living. But then I heard the gospel from the church members, and now I praise God because I found Jesus, who saved me and helped me. So, I have confidence and am full of hope in my life.”
The church is a frontline source of relief to our community’s lost and hopeless people, especially in hard times. Often, we become the helping hand of the Lord, and the people receive the resources in the name of Jesus from the believers.
I have a plan to conduct a gospel rally at least one day every month. We aim to reach many new people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for our church members as they invite neighbors to attend the gospel events.
- Give thanks to God for the safety of our members and weekly services.
- Please pray that the three new young men may receive Christ as their Savior and Lord soon.
- Please pray for those who were affected by the flood; they lost all their properties.
- Please pray continually for the peace and freedom of our country.
Ongoing Ministry for Your Prayers:
I praise and thank God for hearing our prayers and for keeping all my members safe. Though we face many hardships, the Lord protects us and provides our daily needs through His people. Praise the Lord. We have been able to meet on Sundays for our weekly services: home cells, prayer meetings, Bible study programs, and worship services.
By the grace of God, we can conduct gospel teaching, and non-Christians can join us. All who attended expressed interest in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray that the gospel will touch their hearts and encourage them to come to Jesus Christ soon.
There was a lot of dengue fever in the Yangon area, and we sorrow that the four-year-old daughter of a member passed away from dengue fever. Her parents could not afford to buy a tomb, but we thank God that my overseer, pastor Thawng, asked his members to donate enough funds to cover all funeral expenses. Praise the Lord. Many of my members were affected and were in a challenging situation this year from the flood. Please pray for them also.
I plan to conduct a gospel rally at least once a month. We aim to reach non-Christians with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- I thank God for the safety of all my members and the success of our gospel training under many pressures.
- Pray that we can reach new people so that God may open their hearts.
- Pray for those affected by the flood; they lost all their properties.
- Pray continually for the peace of our country. We trust in God, and He alone can change our country.
Continued Ministry for Your Prayers:
I give thanks to God for His goodness toward His children. By the protection of God, we could continue our weekly services, which were home cells, prayer meetings, visiting programs, and Sunday worship services. In my outreach ministry, I met three women in one house and shared the gospel with them: Daw Ohn Kyi, Daw Hla Aye, and Ma Khin Myat. The Holy Spirit moved in their hearts, and they responded that they were willing to know more about the salvation story and would join our Sunday worship service. Daw Ohn Kyi was 80 years old when I met her. She could not walk properly, and I prayed for her health; after two days, she was getting much better, and she could walk properly. Ma Hla Aye’s son, 15 years old, ran away without informing his parents, and they had no contact with him for several weeks. They requested that I pray for their son so that he may be found. I prayed for him, and after one week, their son returned home. They were delighted. I told them our God is mighty; He alone is the Creator and controller of everything.
I plan to conduct gospel camping during the water festival holidays. We are inviting non-Christians. Please pray that more people may know God and His salvation.
Give thanks to God for our weekly services and outreach ministry. Give thanks to God for the three women and pray that they may come to Christ and be saved. Please pray for my plan to conduct gospel camping during the water festival. Please continue to pray for our country, especially for political crisis and peace.
Despite the political problems, our small new church weekly ministry has continued because of your prayers. Though our outside evangelism is limited, I strive to reach new people and gather to worship God on Sundays.
I continue to conduct a home cell program at member Ma Ih’s house; her husband is not a Christian, but when we shared our prayer items, her husband requested prayer for the success of his business. He could not get profits in his own business, but two days after our prayers, he told me, “God answered our prayers, and now my business is a success.” The Lord provided for his needs with answered prayer, and he is ready to believe in God; I am now teaching him the gospel. Praise the Lord.
The Lord is faithful in answering prayers; my members have a challenging situation with their daily meals; sometimes, they eat only porridge, but the Lord used the women’s group of Insein Biblical Presbyterian Church to provide rice and distribute it to all our church members.
We have about fifty members now. Three young men will be baptized soon: Ko Moe Lee, Ko Piang Kyi, and Ko Myiang Kyi Ngi; they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Praise the Lord.
Thanks to God for answering our prayers, for the one man ready to receive Christ as his own Savior and Lord. Thank God that the three young men are prepared to take baptism. Pray for my plan to conduct gospel camping during the water festival. Pray for our country, for political peace.
By the grace of God, we look forward to the blessed New Year 2024. Sometimes, I hesitate to share the gospel with new people, but I am encouraged to have the boldness to share the gospel when I remember from the Bible: “Then spoke the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision. Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace; For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have many people in this city.” KJV (Acts 17:9-10). The Lord sends people with health, financial, social life, and shelter problems who come to church to meet their needs, which means they see God’s helping hand. We pray for them, and God answers our prayers that we can help solve many of their problems. All glory be to God the Father. Thank you for your prayers and financial support for my family and ministry. May the Lord continue to bless you.
Prayer Request:
Give thanks to God for the success of our New Year celebrations and weekly services and programs. Pray for the Water Festival holidays when we plan to conduct gospel camping. Pray for our country for political crisis and peace. Pray for a permanent land and house for our worship place.
New Year greetings to all of you, my prayer partners. May the new blessings be poured upon you all. My Christmas season ministry was doing well; we celebrated Christmas, and about 250 people came. They all were non-Christians. Our weekly services were doing well, too. Praise the Lord.
In November 2023, I contacted some non-Christians and shared the gospel. One of them was the family of Ma Tandar Htun. The health of their family members was not good; Ma Tandar Htun’s mother has diabetes, her daughter suffers from hard breathing, and her small son has TB disease; they are in a challenging situation. My member Ma Khin Tan Myint brought them to my church, and we prayed for their physical and spiritual health. It was amazing that God healed them so they could continue coming to my church every Sunday. They said they believed in Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord.
Due to your prayer help, one man who refused the gospel when I first met him came back from Shan State and now believes in Jesus Christ. When he was in a challenging situation while he was staying in Shan state, because of fighting, he was saved by Jesus; he shared with me. He confessed that he believes in Jesus Christ and joined the church. The Lord saved three persons, Maung Kyaw Zaw, Maung Balah, and Ma Kyi Kyi Maw; they were baptized on January 1, 2024 (New Year) by my overseer, Pastor Thawng Nei Bil.
Thanks to God for our Christmas season ministry and celebrations! Thanks to God for the conversion of three persons. Pray for my member’s daily food and the weekly programs. Pray for the peace and freedom of Myanmar.
Greetings to you all in the name of Jesus Christ. Under many pressures, the Lord blessed my ministry this month so that we could continue our weekly programs regularly including prayer meetings, Bible reading time, and Sunday worship meetings. I also do outreach during the weekdays. We were very happy to continue our weekly services without fail. How God is good towards His children all the time. He cares, feeds, and provides for us.
I praise and thank God that I met some people in my outreach ministry, namely two young men, Ko Chan Mih and Ko We We Aung. I shared the gospel with them, after sharing three times, both of them have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. They will take baptism soon.
Ma Ih Ih Naing and Maung Hung Thang accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord this summer and were baptized by my overseer Pastor Thawng Nei Bil.
Ma Ih Ih Naing’s testimony from last month’s report: “Among the new believers in Yaki is a woman named Ma (Ms). Ih Ih Naing, who had accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior this summer. When I met her, she had a problem with debt. She had made a guarantee and borrowed a large amount of money from a family for her friend. But her friend had run away, several months had passed and Ih Ih was not able to contact her friend anymore. Her debtors had asked her to repay the money back. Ih Ih was disappointed and very worried about what to do. It was during this time that I shared with her about Jesus and asked her to pray for her problems. She prayed, Jesus, if you are a true and living God, please solve my problem as soon as possible and I will believe you and worship you. After two weeks, she was able to contact her friend and she repaid the debt completely. So, Ma Ih Ih Naing received Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord.”
I am recruiting young people for the football team and they joined the fellowship football tournament and got third place. Three of them are my church members and believers, the other eleven are non-Christians. They attend my church’s Sunday service regularly. We hope and pray that they may know and accept Jesus Christ in the near future. This outreach is one of our key ways to draw the youth. It is good because then they all participate in the Youth Fellowship worship services and activities. I visit the Yulee area once a week for evangelism and to meet with my members there.
My eldest daughter has been suffering from heart attacks since her childhood. Recently her disease flared again, and she went to the hospital. After two days, she was getting better and has been discharged from the hospital. Praise the Lord!
- Give thanks to God for the conversion and baptism of two persons. Pray that they may grow in spiritual life.
- Give thanks to God for the success of the football team; it is a good outreach to share with young people the gospel of Jesus Christ. Give thanks to God for the youth believers who are reaching their friends with the gospel.
- Pray for the peace and freedom of Myanmar.
- Pray for my member’s daily food; it rained heavily and flooded, destroying their properties. Pray for their survival.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside the still water.”
