A New Work in Africa —
We are excited to tell you that after much prayer and deliberations with our board and potential partners, White Fields will be supporting the ministry of planting churches in Uganda, Africa. One of the crucial issues before starting support for a new country is to identify the right people who will lead the ministry in the field. We believe we have found the right partners in Africa.
Onesimus Ngoboka grew up in Uganda. He knows the culture, the customs, and belief systems of the people. He has family, friends, brothers and sisters in the Lord, and he has a mighty vision: a thriving church for every village in Uganda.
To pursue this vision, Onesimus came to the United States to study at Southern California Seminary (located at Shadow Mountain Church, home to the ministry of Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah). He will graduate in May with his Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies then return to Uganda to establish a training center for potential pastors supported by Uganda Ministries, led by James Fazio, Academic Dean of the undergraduate division of SCS. Other graduates from the seminary plan to join him upon their graduation as well. We have met numerous times with Onesimus and James to discuss theological and doctrinal foundations as well as philosophy of church ministry and determined we are kindred spirits.
Onesimus is taking on a big job
Nearly 40% of the people in Uganda are illiterate. Education is critical for potential pastors. The training of pastors, expanding their ability to read and study the Bible, is very important. They will increase their evangelism skills and learn how to start new churches in rural African villages. White Fields will also ensure that the pastors’ children receive an education. Over time, this will raise the status and influence of Christians in their communities and have an impact on the future of the country.
White Fields will support the salaries of the graduating pastors so they can work full-time in the bush villages of Uganda. With our financial and prayer support we will place these trained pastors into areas without a gospel witness so that they can establish self-sustaining churches.

From Uganda to Africa
Uganda’s geographical position is centrally located, surrounded by several impoverished and non-Christian nations. Uganda’s border touches Kenya, South Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Centering our headquarters in Uganda creates an enormous potential for spreading the gospel. These countries are in desperate need of God’s Word.
In partnering with Onesimus and Uganda Ministries, White Fields plans to develop a network of cooperative and supportive churches expanding throughout the region. These supported pastors and their families will play a vital role in transforming all aspects of their communities. They need your prayers.
Onesimus will be living in Rukungiri, which is located in the southwest corner of Uganda. It is a very rural area. Since eighty percent of the population live outside the urban centers, we believe the training of potential pastors needs to be set in a rural community. His family will provide a wonderful testimony to other young African pastors. He will also preach and lead a church in this community providing an example of a godly pastor, father, and husband.
