May/June 2021
God is working in the life of Tugeineyo, who is fifty-two. She is a widow with seven children, but they are all grown and live far away now. One of her grandchildren lives with her. Tugeineyo is Anglican by religion, and when we saw her, she was sick with boils on her legs. She was perplexed that we would visit her when she was ill, yet her religious leaders had not. We prayed with her and encouraged her that God loves and cares about her even more than we do. She requested that we come back and revisit her. When we did, we invited her to come to visit us at the church. Tugeineyo came to church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She is now changed and rejoicing in the joy of the Lord’s salvation. She has also become a member of our church.
Topher is eighty-five and a widower who stays with two grandchildren. Tracey is five, and Penelope is eight years old. They survive through subsistence farming and sharing crops like coffee and beans. We met this family through our home visits, and during our conversation, we learned that Topher and his grandchildren are sometimes attacked by evil spirits. He tried to drink alcohol to get some sleep, but all would be in vain. The evil spirits would sometimes chase him from the house, and he would sleep outside. He had bad dreams of his dead son chasing him with a machete or panga to kill him. Topher consulted every witch doctor he knew, but he did not get any help. We shared the Word of God with him and prayed together with him. We also encouraged him to join the fellowship in his village, which he did. Later, he gave his life to Christ and has stopped drinking alcohol. Topher became a member of our church and is now on our team of elders who advise in the church building department. We thank God for saving him, and we pray that he grows in his faith and service to the Lord.
We have finished building our temporary tree poles and mud structure. Praise the Lord. We are praying to God that we can buy more plastic chairs for people to sit on while in the church.
The church leaders meet every Friday from five to six in the evening. We mainly discuss the church challenges and try to find solutions for them. We encourage one another in the Lord and pray together. Gordon is the men’s leader.
Priscar is twenty-seven and married a resident of Kinyamahwa. She has been married for four years and had three miscarriages. Priscar reached the point of hating herself and believed that someone had bewitched her. She started drinking alcohol to avoid stress, which affected her marriage and resulted in marriage and family breakdown. We visited her home and shared with her the Word of God. We encouraged her to build her family again and be stable. We invited Priscar to come to the Sunday service and when she did, she gave her life to Jesus Christ. Now Priscar is eight months pregnant and preparing to give birth. She is happy because God is still protecting her pregnancy. She is praying for her husband to come to the knowledge of the Lord and accept salvation.
Tumusiime is twenty-four years old and married to Kaleb, who is twenty-eight; they are Anglican. They both drink alcohol and fight whenever they are drunk. When we visited Tumusiime at her home, we shared the Word of God with her and encouraged her to trust in God, who can help her fight sin and alcoholism. She was interested in the Word, and we invited her to come to the church for Sunday service. She promised to come one day because she is tired of being an alcoholic. We pray that God will touch her heart to accept Christ into her life.
We thank God for this month; it has been a blessing to see God do wonders in the life of His people.
March/April 2021
We greet our friends and supporters who have stood with us in the work of fulfilling the great commission. We appreciate your contribution and the great love you have shown for the ministry work in Kinyamahwa. May God bless you more abundantly.
God is working in the life of Evelyn, thirty-five years. She is married in Edward, and they have two children. Tracy is four, and Abigail is two. The family lives in a semi-permanent house. Evelyn is a businesswoman and sells matooke in the Kihihi market. She had a problem with alcoholism and sometimes would forget her children, and when this happened, they slept outside in the neighborhood. We visited Evelyn and shared the Word of God. This conversation encouraged her to start taking responsibility as a mother. She attended our service, and we prayed for her. God delivered Evelyn from the addiction of alcoholism, and she is no longer a drunkard. She has accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and has been baptized.
Obed is twenty-year and a single father with two children. Bruno is five, and Shinah is eight. They are residents of Kibaate cell, Kahoko. Obed sustains his family by selling his hard labor to others. He is a butcher and sometimes buys and sells goats. He is staying in a semi-permanent house. Obed’s biggest challenge is that his wife left him with two young kids, which has affected his business and made it hard to look for animals or a job. Before Obed accepted Jesus as his Savior, he was a drunkard and dropped out of school early on and get married instead. Obed first came to our church with a friend who was publicly expressing their thankfulness to God.
The speaker who shared the Word of God touched his heart, and he continued to attend the church services. Later, Obed accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. Now he is a part of the church and contributing to the building fund. His main prayer request is that his wife will return and care for their children.
- Praise God for the testimony of Evelyn and Obed.
- Pray for the grace of God to continue changing their character and the lives of their families.
- Pray for Obed’s wife to return.
We thank the Lord that we have finished plastering inside the church. Now the people are safe from the intense sun and rainfall. Praise the Lord. One of our prayer requests is for more chairs for the church.
We are training the believers to participate in the ministry. We give them opportunities to lead fellowship, share the Word of God by reading the Bible, and leading church programs. Dellick leads the youth group, and Julius leads the men in our church.
The grace of God has transformed Dellick’s life. Dellick is twenty-four, the son of Geoffrey, and a resident of Kiguha cell in Nyakagyeme. We met Dellick during our home visits and shared the gospel with him. At that time, he was a drug addict, a drunkard, and a thief. However, when we spoke, Dellick believed in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Now he is a changed person, and this difference is evident to those around him. The community gives thanks to the Lord for his life and praises God. Dellick is also a part of the worship team.
Kengiga is twenty-eight and a resident of Kibungo cell in Kinyamahwa. She is Catholic and came to our church for prayers when she suffered from stomach pain. We prayed for Kengiga, and she experienced healing. She has been promising to be a part of the church. We pray that Kengiga will give her life to Jesus.
- Pray for Kengiga to come to faith in Jesus Christ.
January/February 2021
Warm greetings to our beloved friends and partners. We know your year was challenging, and the virus has left a scar on almost every community worldwide. We are praying and believe that God alone can offer comfort to those who have suffered during this time. We believe God will protect and strengthen you and all who are struggling to fight the pandemic.
We appreciate your continued support and prayers for our ministry to run smoothly and grow even amidst the challenges. You have helped us demonstrate the love of Christ to many people, and their lives have not remained the same. We praise the Lord for you.
We are continuously seeing the Lord at work in our community. Many people are coming to know the truth in God’s Word and believing in Christ Jesus. Some are shifting from the worship of idols. Others are turning away from following false teachers, these self-proclaimed prophets who handle the Bible deceitfully to rob people of their property and money. Many stopped using witchdoctors and witchcraft for spiritual consulting after learning in the Bible that it is a sin to consult with mediums and spirits. People are surrendering their lives to Christ.
This month God added two new people to us. Ruth was previously an Anglican. Brian was a Catholic. Ruth came with a friend to church, and when we preached the Word of God, she decided to give her life to Christ and committed to being a member of our congregation.
Just recently, God enabled us to complete the work on our church structure. We installed the windows and doors in the building. We thank the Lord who empowered the church members to raise the money. We organized three fundraisers to meet the costs, and all our church members responded positively.
Peninah is a widow with two children. Her son, Ronald, is seventeen, and he dropped out of school to find a job because his mother could not afford the school fees. Ronald went to Kampala to look for work. Royce, her daughter, is nine years old and in primary three class. Peninah serves in the church as an usher and earns her living through selling labor in the community. Her main prayer request is for the Lord to provide for her daughter to stay in school. Peninah is grateful to God for God’s Embassy Kinyamahwa. God has used the church to keep her grounded in faith and growing in the knowledge of God’s Word.
Frank is fifty-two and married to Kehodah, thirty-nine. They have three children, Kenneth is twelve, Andrew is seven, and Onesimus is four. They live in a stick and mud house of two small rooms. This family survives by selling labor and agriculture products that they grow on land rented from the neighbors. Frank is grateful for the church leaders who helped him to know the truth. He testifies that he was a drunkard and used to fight with his wife almost every day. He neglected his family. Through hearing the gospel message, the family has given their lives to the Lord. Frank is no longer a drunkard, and the family is working together. Frank has started saving money and now has three goats. His wife is an usher, and his two children are Young Ambassadors. Due to the lockdown, children are not allowed to be in church, so they usually just participate in the home fellowships.
We pray that God will open financial doors for this family to do business and purchase land for farming.
God is changing the lives of people in our community. Richard, thirty-five, gave his life to Christ. Before he accepted Jesus, whenever Richard drank alcohol, he would lose his balance for several days. During our home visits, we shared the Word and prayed together. We invited him to come to church, and when he did, we prayed again. Richard stated that he has stopped drinking, and the desire for alcohol has disappeared. Now Richard is testifying that the church has helped him to know God and the truth.
Gregory was a Catholic but also addicted to alcohol. Unfortunately, Gregory lost his brother recently. He was drunk and ended up getting killed one night. The Catholic priest refused to carry out the burial ceremony. We went to Gregory’s house and did the burial service for them. We comforted the family and did not request any payment. Our care for the family so touched Gregory that he accepted Christ and joined our church. We pray that the Lord will help him grow stronger in faith and keep him standing firm in God. He is getting pressure from the Catholic religious leaders to return.
- Pray for Gregory to be transformed by God’s grace and to be strong and courageous.
Medias is twenty-five and was introduced to one of our fellowships in Rubambura. She came to visit us at the church and liked the way we studied the Word of God. Since then, Medias has been fellowshipping with us, and we pray that she will give her life to Christ.
- Pray for Medias to understand grace and surrender to Christ.
Christopher is one of the members of our church who has demonstrated an excellent leadership spirit. During the lockdown, he maintained a family fellowship and carried out localized home visits among the church members. He was actively involved in renovating our church structure and is a skilled builder. Christopher did all the work as a volunteer, including clearing the bushes during the time of lockdown when the premises were not in use, demonstrating his love and care for the church. We pray that God will continue to use him.
We have resumed the home visits and fellowships in the communities that were closed due to covid. We thank God that the members are responding and returning to attend these groups. So far, we have resumed six home fellowships and have two that will be starting again soon. We visited twenty homes and reached out to twenty-three males and thirty-six females.
- Pray for the election process in our country and for the whole process to be peaceful.
- Pray for God’s hand to be at work in these elections for the safety of the church.
We are grateful to see what the Lord is doing in our community, bringing many to Himself.
September/October 2020
We thank God for being God always, no matter what. We thank God for providing White Fields to be friends and partners with us in the ministry’s work. Your love, prayers, and support have encouraged us to continue pressing on. You have blessed our families. We praise His name for protecting you and us during this challenging time of the coronavirus pandemic.
Our country has been in lockdown from Spring to early Fall. Now we are allowed to have seventy adults in the public place of worship. The fact that we can again meet in person is a blessing; many new believers struggled with past habits or backsliding from lack of fellowship and accountability with other believers.
Despite the rules against fellowship in large groups, we in Kinyamahwa were able to have small groups with no more than five people every Thursday and Friday. We met to work at the church and share the Word of God and encourage each other. These groups allowed us to maintain the church grounds so the land would not appear abandoned or overgrown with bushes. The people eagerly waited for the worship services; they were thrilled when the government allowed worship places to open. The protocols still prohibit children from attending. The maximum number is seventy to follow the Ministry of Health Standards of Operation Procedures.
These recommendations were new concepts for everyone, so we taught the people how to adapt to the changes. We held a meeting to explain the guidelines to everyone and also shared the gospel. Four people from one family gave their lives to Christ. Just last month, we baptized them. We thank God for His saving grace through Christ Jesus.
We resumed the community fellowship groups every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Instead of meeting in homes, we are meeting at the church. Unfortunately, children are not allowed to meet with the adults in the groups.
The savings groups have paused and not yet resumed because people do not have money at this time. The covid-19 lockdown has adversely affected their incomes, and so it is hard for them to save.
Through home visits, Guma gave his life to the Lord. Since our services opened again, four other people received Christ. We give glory to God. Thank you for your encouraging support. Lives are being changed by God’s grace and through your partnership. We are grateful.
- Pray for the new believers to be firm in their faith and grow in their knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.
July/August 2020
We greet you all with the love of God. We thank God, who is our refugee, and had kept us safe during these days that are challenging due to the COVID 19 pandemic. We also thank God for the White Fields Ministry for their continued support to us both in prayers and finances, without which it would have been so hard to minister in our communities as effective as we are doing. May God bless you always.
We have specifically seen the healing hand of God at work in the life of a girl, Dallen, who is seven years of age. She lives in our village. She has been having stomach pains, and whenever she would eat, she would vomit, and her stomach would swell for days. They took her to the hospital, and the medication they gave her did not help, but instead, she grew worse. When we visited and prayed with her, God healed, and she is now well, and we give glory to God.
A Family in Fellowship
Polina is a widow with two children; -Safra and Osbert. They live in a semi-permanent house in the village. She is a laborer; she and her family survive by working any available job. She is an usher in the church. She was struggling with her daughter Safra who used to get demon attacks, which caused her a lot of pain that she could not eat or do anything. We prayed, and God delivered her. Polina testifies that she used to consult witchdoctors knowing that she was being bewitched by her co-wives, whom she believes that they filled her life with so much hatred, confusion, and frustration. We shared the word of God with her, and by God’s grace, Polina accepted Christ as her Savior and Lord. She says that since then, she has never gone back to the witchdoctors, and she feels peace. Every time she gets a challenge, she goes to God in prayer.
Praises
We praise God, for we have finished putting windows in our church structure, and we are now planning on putting the doors.
Prayer
- We pray that this pandemic will go, and we can have fellowship and church service together.
Leadership in the Church
One of our deacons is Jane; she is the one responsible for looking after the compound around the church; she has a gift of singing; Jane also helps in mobilizing others, encouraging them to keep firm in Christ. Jane was married, but she was unfaithful in her marriage and prostituted herself, which led to the breakup of her marriage. One day Jane came to church with her friend during a thanksgiving ceremony, and by the end of the service, she felt convicted to give her life to Christ. She has never looked back.
- Pray that Jane will get land for farming.
- Pray that she continues to seek the Lord and grow in her faith
Evangelism
God is changing lives, and Mr. Boaz is an example of how God is transforming people’s lives. He lived a reckless life spending most of the time in bars drinking and fighting with people; then he would go home to beat his wife. Boaz never had anything at home because all his earning went towards alcohol. One day when we visited him, he welcomed us warmly in his house because he was so tired of living the way he was. We shared with him the Word of God; Boaz believed and gave his life to Jesus Christ, and the Lord has set him free; Boaz no longer drinks alcohol. He has started rearing some animals at home and is no longer violent either.
Oliva has not confessed Christ to be her savior; however, she is drawn to Him. She became interested in our church because of the home visits we do. Olivia is always inviting us to her home to share the Gospel with her family. We pray she comes to a point when she can confess Christ in her life.
- Pray that Olivia will continue to seek and surrender her life to Christ.
- Pray that her family would respond to the Gospel and that Olivia would be encouraged.
The church is reaching the community through home visits, even though our visits are minimal to do the restrictions.
March 2020
God is working in the life of Evart, a thirty-two-year-old young man. He comes from Bihasha village in Kinyamahwa. He used to be an alcoholic and would sell his family’s food to buy alcohol, leaving the family with nothing. One day while we were in a fellowship in his village. Evart came to tell us that he was tired of being drunk, despite his current state of drunkenness, and that he wanted to get saved and have Jesus be the Lord and Savior of his life. The people who were there thought it was a joke, but we explained the gospel to him, and he confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Two months have gone by, and Evart is still professing Christ and has never gone back to a bar. The people in the community testify that Evart has changed. He is witnessing in his village that God is real. He proclaims that anyone who gives their heart to the Lord will be transformed by the saving grace of Jesus, no matter what their situation is or what they have done.
- Pray for Evart to grow in his new faith and for God to use his testimony to bring more people to trust Him.
Simon is thirty-eight and married to Barbra. They have five children and live in a temporary house that is too small. They are trying to build a bigger house, so they have enough space for their kids. Huntington is fourteen, and Cynthia is twelve. The boys are Elivis and Andrew, seven years, and they have a one-month-old baby. The parents survive by accepting any labor job and working in other people’s fields. The children are part of the Young Ambassadors ministry. Barbra is in the choir, and Simon leads a fellowship in Kagyera cell and is in the intercession department. Simon testifies that he had sold his land and migrate to another district. He ended up misusing the money. By the time Simon came back home, Barbra had given her life to the Lord and was living in a small house on her father-in-law’s property. He had given her this space as his son, Simon, had run away with the money from selling the land and had not returned. Simon was touched and asked Barbra to take him to the church. He gave his life to Christ, at God’s Embassy Katobo church. Since then, Simon and Barbra are living together, working together, and building a roomier house together. Pray for God to enable them to finish their new home.
Winne is one of our deacons; she is an usher and cleans and maintains the church and grounds. She is our church secretary and is part of the church intercession group. Winnie states, “I came to the Lord for safety and refuge as the demons were torturing my children every night trying to strangle them.” When she gave her life to Christ, her children are no longer suffering from the torment from the demons, but feel protected by God. Her prayer request is that God will help her pay off a loan she had acquired after her husband left her.
God is changing lives in our community. Josephine is married to Jackson. He was working away from home, and so Josephine started living a reckless life of alcoholism and prostitution, wasting the money Jackson sent home to help her and their family. Jackson returned after two years, expecting to see some improvements to their home from the money sent by him every month. He found nothing and sent Josephine back to her parent’s house. Jackson returned to work and, at that point, allowed Josephine to come back to their home. We met her at this point and shared the Word of God with her. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and stopped her bad habits. She is now using the money Jackson is sending to develop their home, and they have goats that Josephine is raising for extra income.
We typically reach the community through home visits and fellowships. Last month we visited thirty homes before the lockdown was implemented, and our meetings were suspended due to the coronavirus. We visited thirty homes and ministered the Word of God to seventy-three men and eighty-six women.
Anita, eighteen years old, came to church with terrible stomach pain, and we prayed for her. She got well and came back testifying of her recovery the next week. Anita promised to attend the church service. We pray that she will hear the Word of God and become a believer.
Please continue to pray for these women, that they would continue to seek the Lord wholehearted!
We are thankful for White Fields prayers and support to help us reach more people with the gospel. We praise God that we have installed the doors and windows on our church building. We pray for this pandemic to be defeated in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ so that we can get back to normal life and gather in the church and do home visits again.
January/February 2020
We thank God, who has been with us and enables us to do the work of the ministry in our community. We thank White Fields for standing with us in prayer and finances so that we can minister more effectively. We give God praise for you and pray that He blesses you always.
We have seen God at work in the life of Silvia, who is forty-six and lives near the church. She had been bedridden for over four months from a bruise that became infected. She was so ill that she was unable to walk. We visited and prayed with Silvia, and later she came to the church. We praised the Lord together that she was able to walk to the church by herself. She is healed in the name of Christ Jesus, and we give God the glory.
We are teaching the children the books of the Bible in their order; they usually come for their training every Saturday.
The adults are pooling their money together to purchase utensils and other essentials for each other. This is a ministry the church people decided to do for each other.
One of the families in our fellowship has six people. The father is Ignitious, thirty-two, married to Scovia, twenty-eight. They have four children. They say in a semi-permanent house in Kamunyu cell and service through subsistence farming. Scovia is a born-again believer and gave her life to Christ when we were still at the Katobo church. Ignitious’ father used to worship family spirits, and as he neared the time of his death, he wanted to leave the family spirits with Ignitious. But Ignitious refused as he had started coming to church, even though he had not yet given his life to Christ. This decision resulted in the family spirits tormenting Ignitious and his children with acute stomach pain for over three months. They tried to get treatment but did not get better. We visited the family and shared the Word of God, praying with them as often as we could. At this time, Ignitious gave his life to Christ, and God delivered them. Healing has come to the entire family, and everyone freely serves God with joy. The children are Young Ambassadors, and Scovia is in the church choir. Pray that the Lord will help to raise money to repay the loans they had acquired by trading matoke but instead used the money to treat the children when the family spirits were tormenting them.
- Pray for the family of Ignitious and Scovia to grow in their faith and understanding of God’s Word.
- Pray for strength so they can work and pay off their loan.
Zainabu is one of our deacons and a widow with two children. Salua is sixteen, and Ritah is fourteen. Zainabu serves as the church treasurer. She was born a Muslim. Her father wanted her to worship the spirits like him; when she refused, she was disowned and forced to leave home. She had two children with her husband, and after he died, she went through a lot of rough experiences. She found out about our fellowship in her community, and when she heard the Word of God, she gave her life to Christ; now, she has found peace.
- Pray for Zainabu and her family to grow in the Lord.
- Pray for her testimony to the community and faithfulness in her ministry to the church.
Allen is twenty-eight and married to Alex, thirty-two. She used to be a rumor monger and would destroy people’s lives by spreading gossip and telling lies. But through the film evangelism ministry, she was saved and since then has changed. Now she is living at peace with her neighbors.
Eveline is forty-six and being drawn to Christ. She has poor eyesight, and so for many years, she has not been far for her home. We visited her and shared the Word of God. She liked the message and managed to walk to the church and attend services with us. Eveline promised to come again whenever she can make it. Pray that the Lord convicts her to accept Him.
Evelyn Rubihayo Zainabu
The church reaches the community through fellowships and home visits. This last month we visited forty-six homes and spoke with ninety-three females and eighty-two males.
December 2019
We have seen God working through the life of Rosette, an Anglican from Nyakacwamba village. We met her during our home visits. She suffers from back pain and received treatment from various health workers at multiple health centers, but her situation did not improve. We shared the Word of God with her and prayed with her, believing that the Lord could heal her. She was healed and came to the church, testifying of her healing. We gave glory to God. Rosette surrendered her life to the Lord and is now a
committed member of her home fellowship and Sunday services. We thank God for working in people as He draws them to Himself.
We emphasize scriptural memorization among the children at their Saturday Bible classes. We teach Christian songs and share with them the Bible stories that the children then present in the Sunday service. The parents testify that they have been blessed by seeing their little ones serve God when they are still young. This blessing has encouraged even more parents from the villages to send their children as they know they will learn the Bible.
Praise God for healing and saving Rosette.
- Pray for her testimony to others in the village of God’s deliverance and grace.
- Pray for the children to commit the words of the Bible into their heads and hearts.
- Pray that these words will cause their actions and attitudes to reflect their God.
The adults in the church have started working together to pool their money and purchase home equipment. Some of them have been able to use this method to pay the school fees for their children’s education. Rebecca is twenty-eight and has a baby girl of six months. She had separated from her husband, Osbert, due to his domestic violence. Before Rebecca left, he beat her almost daily, sometimes chasing her out of the house during the night. Osbert is thirty-three, a drunkard, and addicted to gambling. Rebecca reached the point that she decided she could not do this anymore, so she gave up living with Osbert and went back to her parents’ house. We met Rebecca at her parents’ home during our house visits. When we shared the Word of God with her, she gave her life to the Lord. Rebecca then shared about being possessed and attacked by demons at night. We prayed with her, and the Lord delivered her. She has been set free and has not experienced a demonic attack for more than five months. Rebecca is now an active minister in the church and serves as an usher. She returned to her home and reconciled with her husband; she says they no longer fight. Rebecca earns her income through growing crops on a small scale for sale, and she sells her labor. Her prayer request is that her husband may give his life to Christ Jesus.
- Pray for Rebecca’s husband to come to know Jesus Christ through the testimony of Rebecca’s life.
Sayungi is a member of our church; before she gave her life to Christ, she was a prostitute. The women in the village hated her because she was doing prostitution with their husbands. Through our visits, we met Sayungi and prayed with her. That same night, we had an overnight prayer at the church and invited her to come. Sayungi attended the prayers and was convicted by the Holy Spirit to surrender her life to the Lord. Since then, her life has changed. Sayungi stopped being a prostitute and has committed herself to serve the Lord in the church and fellowship. She is on our home visit team and is a living testimony to the many people who knew her before she experienced God’s grace.
Adrine is thirty-four years old and a committed minister in the church, in the church choir and a dedicated leader of the Bihasha home fellowship. Adrine loves the Lord and is a willing and eager minister. Before she became a Christian, she was a servant to a witch doctor and worshiped evil spirits. We reached out during home visits and found her at home with a very sick child due to demonic possession; her master could not heal the child. When we prayed for the child in the name of Jesus Christ, her child was delivered. When Adrine saw this, she surrendered her life to Christ and started attending church. She requested that we start a home fellowship in her house. She has committed her life to prayer and studying the Word of God and now is one of the promising future leaders of our church.
We are visiting the villages around the church community, preaching the gospel, and starting new home fellowships. We begin through home visits and then establish the home fellowship so we can teach the Word of God to as many people as possible. The most recently started group is in Bugarama village and meets every Wednesday evening in Jolly’s home. Jolly is also the leader of this fellowship. This month we visited forty-eight homes and shared the Word of God to ninety-one men and one- hundred-and-one women. We thank God that many people are receptive to us, and some come to visit the church service on Sundays after we first visit their home.
- Pray for the home visits and fellowships to continue bringing people to know the Lord God.
- Pray for the ministers to have boldness and discernment as they speak from God’s Word.
- Pray that God will listen to their prayers for healing for the believers and unbelievers; praise God for healing Adrine’s child.
Rojinal is a young man who was introduced to us by our fellowship of Kibungo. He had severe stomach pain and was brought to the gathering for prayer. We prayed with him, and the following Sunday, he came to church, thanking God for healing him. Since then, Rojinal has continued in fellowship with us, and we believe that God will convict him to confess Christ in his life.
- Pray for the funds to purchase Bibles; many of the believers need Bibles but cannot afford them.
In their previous religions, they were not encouraged to own their own Bible since the priest was the one who read to them in the religious service.
We praise God that people are now welcoming us when we come to visit them in their homes. They are more responsive to the Word of God than ever before.
Thank you for supporting us through prayers and standing with us as they share the Word of God.
- Pray for the ability to provide Bible for the people.
- Pray for more people to come to know the Lord Jesus as their savior.
November 2019
Josephine is in her forties and was suffering from a terrible cough for over four months. By the time she called us to pray with her, she was already bedridden. We prayed with Josephine for two weeks, and she has been healed. Glory to God! Josephine had been a member of the Roman Catholic church but has now joined our church.
- Pray for Josephine to be completely healed and to regain her strength.
Eric and Provia have a four-month-old baby. This family lives in a grass-thatched house in Kagyera cell in Kinyamahwa village. They are peasant farmers and mainly grow tomatoes as their source of income. They face uncertain weather, pests and diseases, and unpredictable seasonal yields, which is more likely to cause significant losses rather than steady produce. Eric is our church chairman of the building committee, and Provia is in the church choir. They both enjoy evangelizing. Eric grew up in a family of demon and spirit-worshipers. He suffered from chronic stomach pain that was not resolved by visits to witchdoctors. Finally, Eric sent for us to come to his home and pray with him. When we did, the Lord healed him, and now Eric is a part of our church and serving the Lord. His prayer request is that God will bless his garden with better yields so he can earn more income to build a better home for his family.
One of our deacons is Winnie. She serves by keeping the church clean. Winnie does home visits to members of the church to encourage them in their faith and to attend the fellowships. She is a peasant farmer. She requests prayers for God to bless the work of her hands so she can support her children in school.
- Pray for the crops to produce abundantly for Eric, Provia, and Winnie so they may care for their children and make improvements to their homes.
- Pray for an increase in the number of people attending the church and for evangelism to bring more people to come to know Jesus Christ.
God is changing the lives of people by His mercy, and this transformation is evident to everyone in the community. Grace was an aggressive and violent woman, even towards her husband, if he tried to stop her from fighting with others. She was a prostitute and a drunkard. The family of her husband decided to take action by chasing her out of the family. But then we visited Grace at her home and shared the gospel with her and her husband, Frank. Grace accepted Jesus Christ and is now gentle, everyone who knew her before is wondering what has changed and why she no longer fights. We give God the glory.
The church is preaching the gospel to the community through home visits and fellowships. This month we visited forty-five homes and ministered to twenty-eight men and forty-three women. Topister is fifty-two and enjoys attending our fellowship group. She promises to come to church soon, and we believe God is calling her to Himself.
- Pray for Topister to surrender her life to God and to be saved.
- Pray for the evangelists who conduct home visits to have wisdom as they share God’s Word.

We bring greetings from God’s Embassy, Kinyamahwa. We are grateful for the support you give us. We witness people being changed through the ministry by God’s grace.
Fortunate is in her late twenties and married to Jacson with a four-month-old child. When we met Fortunate during our visits, she asked us to pray for her situation. The family spirits made her walk at night to places that she did not remember afterward. Sometimes she would discover scrapes and wounds all over her body that implied she even walked through the brush. Fortunate shared that since she gave her life to Christ and stopped worshiping the family spirits she has been delivered from their influence and is not walking at night anymore. We thank God for her deliverance and give Him the glory.
The children regularly come to the church on Saturdays to practice the songs they present on Sunday for the main service. The youth preach door-to-door to their peers, and this month they encouraged Sarah, who is seventeen, to come to the church. She accepted Jesus Christ and has been baptized. We are supporting the youth to persist in sharing with their peers.
- Pray for Fortunate to grow in her relationship with God.
- Pray for Sarah to be firm in her faith and to grow in her knowledge of God’s Word.
There is a family in our fellowship with four members. Samuel is married to Jovita, and they have two children, Junior is eleven, and Peron is seven. They live in a grass-thatched house and survive by selling labor. Samuel sings in the church choir, and the children are in the Young Ambassadors. Jovita is an usher. Samuel was such a drunkard that he used to fight with his wife; furthermore, he would chase her and the children out of the house. Jovita was the first to receive Christ, and she asked the church to pray for the salvation of her husband. One day, when Samuel was drunk, he fell in the river. By God’s grace, the river dumped him downstream on the banks of a banana plantation, and he was taken to the hospital. When he recovered, Samuel gave his life to Christ. The family’s prayer request is that God will enable them to work so they can purchase a larger piece of property to grow enough food for their family.
Praise the Lord for rescuing Samuel from alcoholism and using his adventure in the river to bring him to faith in Jesus Christ.
- Pray for the family to save their income to fulfill their dream to purchase a larger piece of land.
We praise God for the church structure that He enabled us to build. We believe that He will continue to provide for the remaining aspects of the building. We are in the rainy season, and many people are preoccupied with weeding activities. Even when it rains, they do not always come to church activities.
- Pray for the walls of the church building.
- Pray for the congregation to put their priority and trust in God.
- Pray for the garden to grow abundant food and for the weeds to be easy to pull out.
Kenneth is one of our church leaders. He is a builder by profession and a programmer in the church. He helps us whenever we have a building project. He is an evangelist and does home visits to share the good news. He was a drunkard and used to sleep in the bushes or outhouses until his wife came to us, asking us to pray for his salvation. One day, Kenneth came to church with his wife and gave his life to Christ. His prayer request is that God will give him the strength to work and earn an income to care for his family and support his children in school.
- Pray for Kenneth as he witnesses to the non-believers in his community.
- Pray that he can provide for his family.
Shibah is twenty-eight and married to Ivan, thirty-two. They have a child, Simpson, who is two years old. Shibah was a drunkard and adulterous. We met her during home visits and shared the Word of God. She accepted Christ as her Savior, and her life has changed. She no longer does the things she used to do and is settled contentedly at home with her husband.
- Pray for the family of Shibah and Ivan.
Give thanks for the salvation and baptism of Shibah.
Through our home visits, we are reaching the community with the Word of God. This month we visited forty-seven homes and spoke with twenty-two women and thirteen men.
Fiabe is sixty-two and is getting interested in the gospel. She had been having sleepless nights and would be attacked by demons at night. But even since we visited and prayed with her, Fiabe has been delivered and is now fellowshipping with us.
- Pray for Fiabe to come to understand her need for a Savior and to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord.

Jack was lost in alcoholism. One day, the Lord convicted him to come and pray with us at the home fellowship of Bihasha Kinyamahwa. Jack told us that he had been hearing about our church and was looking for us. Jack was already quite drunk, so we could not trust his words. But Jack insisted he was willing and ready to surrender his life, including his alcoholism, to God. We prayed with him, and the next Sunday saw him at church. Since then, Jack has been a consistent member of the church, attending the services, and home fellowships. We praise the Lord for the great work He is doing in bringing people to Himself, even in unexpected ways. Jack now shares with others what the Lord has done in his life.
Praise the Lord for saving Jack.
- Pray for his testimony to the community and his transformed life to bring others to faith in God.
The children still attend church every Saturday for Bible study and rehearsals. They are studying the book of Proverbs, and they recite memory verses in the main service on Sunday. The adult ministry is collecting their money to fund their self-development projects like purchasing poultry and other projects.
Abaho is in his thirties, and his wife, Rovince, is mid-twenties. They have one child, Tricia, who is a year and a half old. The family lives in a temporary house in Kinyamahwa village. Abaho trades in matooke (cooking bananas), and his wife sells her labor. They also crop farm on a small piece of land to grow food for their household. Rovince is in the church choir. They share their testimony in the village of how God saved them and healed their child from an unknown illness, which they thought was from witchcraft. Pray for God to bless the work of their hands so they can earn more and purchase another piece of land to grow enough food for their family.
- Pray for Abaho, Rovince, and Tricia.
- Pray for the parents to work hard and for their efforts to be blessed.
- Pray for Abaho and Rovince to train up their child to follow Christ.
We praise God for answering our prayers. We needed more space for our Children’s Sunday school and prayed for this need. God touched one of our neighbors, who is not even a Christian, he is Anglican, but he offered us a house for use as a Sunday school class. Praise the Lord.
- Pray for our witness to this neighbor through the children.
- Pray for the children to learn and grow in their faith in God.
We are grateful for our elders and deacons who help to move our church forward. Davis is twenty-two and our assistant choir leader. He has the gift of singing. He also is mentoring our youth by encouraging them to be consistent in attending church and to spend their time profitably. Davis was once a drunkard, used drugs, and had other bad habits. He got into trouble frequently and would usually end up in prison. When Davis was saved, his life changed. He came to our church and found that we were teaching the Word of God in a way that would impact his life and help him grow in Christ. Davis asked to join us, and we welcomed him. His prayer request is that God will help him work hard and save the money to purchase land to build a home.
- Pray that God grants his prayer request.
- Pray for Davis to continue to influence the youth positively.
Faith is fifty-six and lives in Mukaterero Kengoma in Kamunyu cell. She lost her husband last year and has four children. Before she came to Christ, Faith was hopeless about life due to losing her husband. She had no reason to keep going, but now she says that God has given her new hope in Christ, and she can work to care for her family. She expresses gratitude to God for bringing hope into her life.
Joventa is fifty-eight and is being drawn to Christ. We met her during our home visits. We shared the Word of God and prayed with her. Joventa has promised to fellowship with us and is committed to attending our fellowship.
- Pray for faith and her family.
- Pray for Joventa to come to understand her need for a Savior and to express faith in Jesus Christ.

Charity is twenty-seven and had been saved but was discouraged in following Jesus Christ by her husband. When we did our home visits, we talked with her and her husband. After our conversation, her husband found it acceptable for her to attend the church and have fellowship with us. Charity is now in the choir. Praise the Lord.
- Pray for Charity’s husband to come to faith in Jesus Christ and attend the church.
The children continue to come for rehearsal every Saturday and learn God’s Word as they prepare to serve on Sundays. This event has attracted more children to attend the church. Mr. Kampikaho is willing to allow his children to join us and promises that someday he will follow them too. One mother came to us with her two children, Catherine, eleven, and Andrew, four, asking that her children be allowed to join the Young Ambassadors. She desired her children to be involved even though she is not yet fellowshipping with us. Through the home visits, we have also encouraged the youth to join us, Christine is fifteen, and Angellah is seventeen. Miracle is four years old and joined the Young Ambassadors too.
- Pray for the children to be instruments in leading their parents to the Lord.
- Pray for the children to learn about Jesus Christ and come to believe in Him as their Savior and Lord.
The adults in the church are working together to save up money. Their goal is to buy a goat for every member.
- Pray for the church members to have unity as they work together.
- Pray for success in their endeavor.
Eric lives with his wife, Evaline; they have a five-month-old child. They live in a grass house. Evaline sells labor, and Eric trades in matoke. He is helpful to the church as he is the chairman of the building committee. They both are intercessors in the church and enjoy preaching the gospel during home visits. Eric is grateful for his salvation, he used to smoke drugs, but when he gave his life to the Lord, he was delivered from that dangerous habit. His prayer request is to be able to build a decent house for his family.
- Pray for Eric and Evaline to achieve their desire to build a decent home.
- Pray for their health and strength to work hard.
- Pray for their child to grow up knowing the Lord.
Eric works hard to provide for the family.
Karakyre is forty-two and spent three years suffering from ulcers. He was unable to eat any food except for roasted sweet potatoes. We thank the Lord that he has been healed through the prayers of the believers in the church. We give glory to God.
We thank God for continuing to bring more people to our church; we now have sixty-seven people. We are reaching the community through home visits and then inviting them to join the home fellowship and attend the church. We visited thirty homes and spoke with fourteen men and twenty-seven women.
- Pray for more people to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Praise the Lord for healing Karakyre.

- Pray for John to come to faith and believe in God for his salvation.
We are training our members to participate in ministry during the early hours on Sunday when we meet for classes, and we also give them opportunities to serve in the fellowships. We have dedicated deacons. Frank is one of our deacons and helpful to our ministry. He generously contributes when we face a financial need, and he is the vice-chairman of our building committee. Frank also intercedes for the church. He used to brew alcohol and would also drink his liquor to the point that he would spend weeks away before returning home. He gave his life to Christ Jesus and received deliverance from this addiction.
During our home visits, we discover Kenneth sleeping outside his home and suffering from a stiff neck. We shared the Word of God with him and prayed with him. We invited him to attend the home fellowship. He was encouraged and grateful that we visited.
Ditus is thirty-three, and his wife is Annet, who is twenty-four, and from the village of Kinyamahwa. They live in a semi-permanent house with their two children, Innocent, nine years, and Daphne, six years. They survive by selling their labor. They recently faced a challenge, they had received a loan to buy a piece of land for cultivation, but when they brought the money home, thieves came and stole it. So they are stuck where they are and have to repay the money for the loan too. Annet is in the choir and has the gift of teaching. Ditus is the chairman of developmental activities. He shared his testimony, he was a drunkard, and when we prayed for him, he gave up drinking alcohol.
- Pray for Ditus and Annet to get money to purchase land and to clear their loan.
We attended the conference in Katobo and learned from 1 Corinthians. Two people from our church who attended came to understand the gospel and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord!
- Pray for the new believers to grow in their faith and understanding of God’s Word.
Patrick is one of the elders in our church. He is married to Phionah, and they have six children. Patrick serves by cleaning the church compound. His testimony is that he used to fight a lot when he was drunk and would often be fined due to his aggression. Now that he is saved, Patrick is at peace with everyone, including his wife and neighbors. He feels that it would be appropriate to make his marriage right legally by being wed in the church.
- Pray for Patrick and his family to honor and serve the Lord through their actions.
- Pray for Patrick’s testimony to his neighbors.
God has changed the life of Precious. She was a drunkard and prostitute. We started a fellowship at Florence’s house, and Precious was invited to attend. On the second day, she gave her life to Christ. Since then, she has stopped drinking and has been reconciled with her husband, who had abandoned her. They are happy now. Precious says she did not believe she could be saved but is grateful that God accepted her.
Charlotte is drawing near to the Lord. She brought her child, who had a painful stomach issue. We prayed for him, and he has recovered. Now Charlotte is praising the Lord for healing her son. She has not yet given her life to Christ but loves to attend our services.
- Pray for Charlotte to come to realize her need for a Savior and to surrender her life to Jesus Christ.
Praise the Lord for saving Precious.
- Pray for her testimony to bring others to faith.
Please pray for our brother and sisters in Christ who are seeking, working and believing in God’s promises.

God is working in the life of Eric, a thirty-eight-year-old Muslim, who had spent many years serving the devil through witchcraft and spirit-worship. We visited his house during our outreach program and shared the gospel. He and his wife accepted Christ as their personal Savior. They have both been baptized.
- Pray for Eric and his wife to grow in their faith through the study of God’s Word.
Our children are being trained to serve God through singing and dancing as Young Ambassadors. The church has had an increased in the participants, we went from 28 children to 34 children, and even though it is a blessing we have also run out of room for them during Sunday school class.
- Pray for the children to grow in their faith as they learn about God’s love for them.
Kenneth and his wife are in their forties. They have five children, the oldest is eighteen, and the youngest is two weeks old. The family survives through subsistence cultivation and selling labor. They live in poverty as classified by their inability to pay school fees for their children consistently. The children and mom serve in the church choir. Kenneth is our church programmer. They help with home visits to encourage and pray with others. Before coming to Christ, most of what they earned by their hard labor was spent on witchdoctors to obtain witchcraft protection. Kenneth was desperate and always drunk until he gave his life to Christ through a house visit. He brought his wife to church, and now they are a part of the congregation. He works on a construction site and is grateful to God for the extra income to support his family. Pray for this family to be strengthened in the Lord.
- Please pray for this young family as they seek and serve the Lord!
We train others to participate in the ministry by teaching from the Bible in our foundations class every Sunday before the main service. They are giving opportunities to serve in fellowships and lead some programs. Our elders are motivated and work hard to guide the youth in how to behave. Ambrose is twenty-eight and instructs the youth. He is an excellent teacher, and we are blessed that he is a part of our congregation. Ambrose praises God for saving him and bringing him back home. He had spent ten years away from home practicing witchcraft and was a witchdoctor for seven years. His parents requested that we pray with them for the Lord to touch his heart and change his actions. We often prayed for him, and two months later, Ambrose returned home, receive Christ, and has joined the church to serve God.
- Pray for the youth to be guided in righteousness by Ambrose and given him wisdom and discernment as he teaches.
Praise the Lord for Ambrose testimony.
Zainab is in her late thirties and has two children, fifteen and eleven years old. She was a prostitute for a long time after losing her husband. Zainab is doing honest work to earn money to support her children in school.
- Pray for Zainab and her family, for food to sustain the family and for the children to stay in school.

We are grateful to God for the good work He is doing in our area by saving people, and for the support we receive from you that helps us make strides in ministry. We give glory to God for the thirteen people who were saved at the overnight prayer meeting. Five of these people have joined us and were baptized this past month.
We continue to train the children every Saturday in songs and drama which they present at the main service as Young Ambassadors. The youth have been taught to share the gospel with their peers by visiting door-to-door. So far, they are enjoying evangelism. We thank God that through this ministry, two youth have been added to the church.
Kyarimpa is a widow in our fellowship with three children. One is already married, the remaining two are Penelope and Lynette. They live in a temporary house and earn a living through selling labor and subsistence farming. Penelope teaches in the Sunday school, Lynette is a Young Ambassador, and Kyarimpa is an usher in the church. She testifies that she lives with a terrible cough for a long time that caused her to isolate herself from others. They would fear her cough as they thought it was tuberculosis. We met her during a visit and prayed with her. This prayer brought some relief, and she came to the church so we could pray for her more as she believed that God would heal her. The Lord has completely healed her. She had been making pancakes to sell in the market, but due to her cough, she no longer could sell them because no one bought them. Now she is grateful that she can sell pancakes again and save money to pay the school fees for her children. Praise God!
We praise God for providing a means of transportation. God answered our prayers, and we have a motorcycle that is helping with transportation to the church and for home visits.
- Pray for the Lord to use us to touch many lives and help them to surrender their lives to Christ.
We bring all the ministers together and teach the Word of God, going verse-by-verse through the Bible. Later they lead others in the fellowships while we supervise their teachings. We have a team of elders and deacons who are dedicated to serving God. One example is Florence, who is fifty and a widow but is working hard for her family and serving God. She states that she had spent all her money on witchcraft due to a mysterious sickness. But since she gave her life to Christ, this illness has disappeared. She is now saving that money so that she can buy a goat to raise as an income generating project. She helps as an usher and is our treasurer. She is on the intercession team of the church. She is praying to save enough money for her son to continue his education past senior four.
- Pray for Florence to stay healthy and be able to save the money to purchase a goat.
Praise the Lord for her healing.
God is doing great work in the lives of his people. He has transformed the life of Giliphinah, who is in her late twenties. She was a drunkard for such a long time that she was close to separating from her husband. She would stay in the bars for more than two days before returning home, then her husband would beat her. But since she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she has stopped drinking alcohol and is serving in the church choir.
Praise the Lord for Giliphinah!
We held an overnight event at the church with three-hundred people attending. Thirteen gave their lives to Christ. The others who showed an interest in the gospel are being followed up through home visits. This month we visited forty homes.
Paul is being drawn to faith in Christ. He is sixteen and had a severe health condition. He was unable to get money for treatment in the hospital, but when we met him and prayed with him, the Lord healed this disease. Paul was in school and was receiving a scholarship through an organization that helped with his school fees. But they stopped paying for his costs when he was sick for so long. He is looking for other opportunities to return to school.
- Pray for Paul to come to faith in God.
- Pray for the opportunity to continue his education.
March 2019
We have seen God at work in the life of Jane. Her husband had left her and the children because she was a drunkard and a quarrelsome woman. Jane came to the church for the Sunday service prayers and gave her life to Christ. She has changed by the grace of God and no longer is drinking. When her husband heard what had happened to his wife and that she had overcome the addiction of alcohol, he came to the church looking for the Jesus who changed his wife. After hearing the Word of God, the man also accepted Jesus Christ. He has returned home and is supporting his wife, and the children are able to attend school again. The children have joined their parents in attending church.
Praise God for the transformation of this family by His grace!
- Pray for Jane and her husband’s witness to their community and for them to raise their children to know the love of God.
- Pray for the children to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The various ministries in the church are based on the age of the participants. The children who are Young Ambassadors meet on Saturdays for their training. They present songs and drama at the Sunday service. We praise God that their numbers have increased from sixteen to twenty-seven children. The women meet weekly to learn new skills. They are weaving baskets to sell to raise money to use in their homes. The youth have started the pig project where they expect to earn some income.
- Pray for the people in each group to support each other they work together to improve the daily lives of their families.
- Pray for the women to increase their skill and knowledge as they earn an income.
- Pray for the youth to be responsible as they care for their pig.
One of the families in our fellowship lives in a temporary house. Paulina is a widow with six children, three are already married and three still attend school. Asiime is twenty-four, Kyasiimire is twelve and in primary four and Sephora is nine years and in primary three. Paulina survives by selling labor and digging in her own field, but despite her hard work, it is not quite enough. Her children are in the choir and Paulina reads the Bible at the services and is an usher in our church. We pray for God to give her the strength to keep working and raise the money to provide for her children’s school fees.
- Pray for the family of Paulina, for their daily needs to be met and for the children to study hard in school.
We train our members to participate in leadership in multiple ways. Those who show an interest in the Word of God are being instructed in how to lead the Bible reading. Every Wednesday we go through specific books of the Bible, and they practice during our fellowships. Frank is one of our deacons, he is thirty-seven, married and has three children. He cleans around the outside of the church, planting flowers and building the fence. Frank came to Christ after our visit to the place where he was wasting time and money by gambling and drinking. When we spoke to him about the gospel, he became interested and came to the church, one day he gave his life to Christ.
There was a bar next to the church, and sometimes they would make noise while we were in service. We prayed to ask God to solve this challenge. The bar has closed down, and the owner went into another business. Praise the Lord.
This month we saw God changing the lives of people in the church. Edson is thirty-five and a trader of goats. He has been in this trade for five years but never earned any profit or save money for his family. After Edson saw the change in the life of Frank due to salvation and how Frank stopped gambling, Edson came to the church and gave his life to Christ. Now Edson has been saving money from his trade in goats to support his family.
- Pray for Edson to continue to stand firm in the faith and for his business to support his family.
- Pray for those who are being instructed in reading the Word of God in the services.
Praise God for Frank’s witness to Edson, the church and the community, praise the Lord for his service in caring for the grounds.
Our outreach to the community is continuing through home visits. We go door-to-door to preach the Word of God and invite the people to attend a home fellowship where we expound the Bible. This month we visited fifty-six homes.
Maureen was left in her home by her husband. The living conditions were so harsh that she resorted to stealing food, such as matooke (green bananas or plantains, from someone else’s garden. When we heard about this, we took her a bag of posho (cornmeal porridge), Maureen was so grateful that she started to come to church and is getting close to salvation. We are praying for her to come to faith.
- Pray for Maureen to come to an understanding of salvation and to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
- Pray for her daily needs of food to be met.

We are grateful to God for establishing the church in Kinyamahwa and for White Fields prayer partners. God is saving his people. This month seven people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and were baptized.
God restored Sylvia’s family. She had lost her husband who was a drunkard. Due to continued counseling and prayer with Sylvia and her husband, by the grace of God, they are now living together peacefully. Sylvia’s husband has stopped drinking alcohol, and we are praying that he will accept Christ into his heart.
Sylvia is grateful for the time invested in her and her husband. She is praying for her husbands salvation…
- Pray for Sylvia and her husband to grow closer together.
- Pray for Sylvia’s husband to be saved and wholly released from the bondage of alcohol.
Jane is married to Obadiah, and they have three children between the ages of ten to sixteen years old. Jane and the children live in a temporary house. She cultivates a garden to provide food for her family, and sometimes she works for others in their gardens to earn an income. Obadiah has two wives and is a brewer of alcohol. Jane told us that most of the money Obadiah earns is given to his second wife, so Jane is not able to pay the school fees for her children. Before Jane received Christ, she went to the witchdoctors to have them bewitch, she wanted his other wife to die. In one of our home visits, we shared the gospel with her, and Jane gave her life to Christ. Now Jane says she no longer goes to the witchdoctor as she has forgiven her the other wife and her husband. Jane’s husband abandoned her, but now he is hanging around but not staying with her. Jane is an usher in the church and an excellent Bible reader. Her prayer is for her husband to be saved.
- Pray for Jane’s family to be reconciled and for her husband to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of his life.
- Pray for Jane’s children to be able to attend school.
We continue to train our congregation to participate in God’s Work by helping them read the Bible and discuss its principles in their fellowships. Our elders work hard to see that the families are well-cared for and we encourage them to set an example to their communities. I especially want to mention two elders by name, Florence and Pascali, that are persistent in doing home visits and mobilize many new people to come to church.
- We see God changing the lives of people in the community. One man, Nelson practiced witchcraft, and his family is very connected with the family of Kabebe. We met Kabebe and shared with him about salvation. Kabebe accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and left witchcraft. Wilson was convicted through Kabebe’s actions and also gave his life to Christ. Praise the Lord!
- Pray for the Lord to help them continue to be committed to serving God and His people.
- Pray for the witness of Nelson and Kabebe to the community and for them to be firm in their faith.
Our church is reaching the community with door-to-door evangelism. We preach the gospel in their homes and establish home fellowships for the people to gather and be nurtured in the Word of God. Stidia loves to attend the Sunday services at church but has not yet given her life to Christ.
- Pray for Stidia to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
- Pray for the evangelist to have boldness and wisdom as they share the gospel with the people in their community.
- Pray for the people to listen and come to salvation.
As we are now in the rainy season, there is a widespread outbreak of malaria. Multiple deaths have occurred in the community since not many people are able to afford the cost of treatment. We are reminding our church members of the importance of staying out of stagnant water and keeping their surrounding vegetation cut or slashed.
- Pray for health for the congregation and for the financial ability to receive treatment when illness occurs.
- Pray for the church to help educate their community in avoiding and treating sickness.
January 2019
This month God is adding more people to the church, for example, the family of Nelson joined us. We have witnessed the ministries in the church thriving and the people working hard together. The youth held a concert at the church to raise money to buy a piglet. They plan to care for this pig, and after it has piglets, each member will receive a piglet to raise. God has helped us complete the final payments for the church land and the church building.
Give thanks for the new believers who are coming to church.
- Pray for the youth to succeed in their goal of raising the pig as they work together.
Praise God for the church land and building.
Ignicious’ parents had a shrine for spirit-worshiping, and they would force him and his family to worship their gods every Friday. When his parents died, Ignicious abandoned the spirit-worship, burned the shrine, came to church, and surrendered his life to Christ. He says that his family now has peace. Iginicious is married to Scovia; they have four children. The family survives by selling their labor which means they struggle to earn enough to keep their children in school. The parents are both actively serving in the ministry, and the children are in choir. We are praying for God to continue giving them the strength to work so they can keep their children in school.
- Pray for the family of Ignacious and Scovia to have a steady income that enables them to keep the children in school and provide for their daily needs.
Sam was a drunk, he would often beat up his wife and not bother to care for his family. When we visited him, we shared with him about the gospel and invited him to attend church. When he started coming to the services, he decided to surrender his life to Christ. His entire life has been changed, he no longer drinks and is working hard as a fisherman to support his family.
- Pray for Sam to stand firm in faith and resist the temptations of alcohol.
- Pray for his family.
Pascal is seventy-eight and very punctual in arriving at the fellowship. He helps train the youth in reading the Bible. He also counsels and prays with people who come to the church. Adrine is another leader who is responsible for advising the youth in how to be well-disciplined at home. Florence has a gift in reading the Bible. These are some of the leaders that God has blessed us with at the church. We now have seven fellowships in the community. Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord for excellent leaders.
- Pray for wisdom and discernment as they counsel the men, women, and youth in the church.
- Pray for the leaders to continue to grow in their knowledge of God’s Word and to grow in their relationship with God.
Wilson is being drawn to know Christ. We visited his house and invited him to join us for prayer at the church. He has come twice and is showing interest in the gospel.
- Pray for Wilson to one day receive Christ in his heart.
December 2018
We thank God for the grace He has given us as a church to serve in the Kinyamahwa community, and are grateful to White Fields partners for the financial and prayer support that enables us to do our ministry so effectively.
God has helped us acquire the land for the church. We were able to buy the very place we had been renting and where we had built a church structure. We thank God for White Fields raising the funds for which we were able to purchase the property.
- Praise the Lord for the property for our church.
The men are working together to build and repair houses. As a church, we have contributed materials, tree logs, and sticks. On each day, the team travels to a particular home and works to build or repair as needed. We built a house for Bernard Bahikire, and he is grateful to the church.
The youth are attending in high numbers since they are on school break. They are training in the sport of soccer for the God’s Embassy inter-fellowship competition. The winning team receives a cow.
- Pray for the men to work in unity as they bless their community through constructing and repairing houses.
- Pray for the youth to train together as a team and to have good sportsmanship as they compete for the prize of a cow.
One of the families in our fellowship is a widow, Shalon, with three children. Her husband died of epilepsy. The family lives in a semi-permanent house with three rooms. Shalon grows crops for her family to eat and sells her labor to others, usually working in their gardens. She earns very little and struggles to keep her children in school due to the fees. Her children were having epileptic seizures, but since they started attending church and we prayed for them, they stopped getting these attacks. We encouraged them to pray for their healing. Shalon is training the Young Ambassadors and serves as an usher.
- Pray for Shalon to be able to buy land for food cultivation and to start a business.
- Pray for the finances to continue to pay school fees for her children.
Kenneth is an elder in the church who gave materials to use during the construction of the church building. He counsels the youth and is busy with them since they are on school break. Before salvation, Kenneth was a drunkard and a womanizer. He wasted all his money on alcohol and women. After getting saved, his life has changed, and he no longer drinks alcohol or goes out with women. His wife is happy, and Kenneth is caring for his family.
- Pray for Kenneth and his wife to remain faithful to each other as a couple and remain in Christ.
Frank is in his fifties. He used to practice witchcraft and his children were all hopeless and lunatics. There was no peace in his home or his life. Now that he has been saved and joined the church, he says his family is happy, his children were set free and are in their proper minds, and there is peace in his home.
- Pray for the Lord to continue to cover his family with grace. Pray for their faith to grow.
After we conduct home visits, we invite people to attend the home fellowships. One of the fellowships is in Kagorogoro in the home of Matsiko and is led by Mr. Daudi. This month we visited eighty-five homes and shared the gospel with one-hundred and sixty-three people.
- Pray for the fellowship in Kagorogoro to continue meeting faithfully and for its participants to grow in number and in their understanding of God’s Word.
Fabisa is being drawn to Christ. She is attending the group and appreciates our prayers with her. Although she has even contributed an iron sheet for the roof of the church, Fabisa has not yet fully surrendered her life to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Pray for Fabisa to come to an understanding of the gospel and confess Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
- Pray for our desire to start a kindergarten at the church, many children in the community travel long distances to go to school and others are unable to go at all.
November 2018
Greetings from God’s Embassy in Kinyamahwa. Thank you for the support and prayers that have helped us to take great strides in ministry and impact the lives of many in our community. We have seen God at work as we moved from a small place to a larger location of worship. The people are grateful and encouraged in their faith for they witness God taking care of our needs as a church as well as caring for their needs as individuals. The visible faithfulness of God has resulted in many people getting saved, and our numbers have increased.
The youth have grown to include twenty-five individuals. The most significant draw was from the start of a football (soccer) team that resulted in more youth joining the group. It is an exciting sport to participate and watch. We use games as a method to evangelize to the community, especially the youth.
- Pray for the youth ministry to continue growing and drawing more boys and girls to faith in God.
One of the cultural and spiritual challenges in our location is the religious beliefs and influence of the religious leaders. The Catholic church leaders intimidate the people by making them social outcasts if they do not comply with their demands. The church cast fears on the people because of the influence the Catholic church has over many of the institutions within the community, and this limits the people who are willing to attend the fellowships or declare faith in Jesus.
- Pray for the people to come to an understanding of real grace and forgiveness for sins only possible through the blood of Jesus Christ.
- Pray for strength and courage to stand up to the intimidation of the Catholic leaders.
Edson and Daphine have one child who is two years old, and they are members of our fellowship. They do subsistence farming for their food and grow tomatoes and some coffee for their income. Since they depend on their gardens for survival, they are always affected by the price fluctuations in crop harvests that change due to weather or lack of market. They live in a stick and mud house. Daphine is in the choir and Edson helped build the church structure. Edson used to ride a motorbike for a taxi (boda-boda) company to supplement his income. Before he was saved, he wasted his earnings on alcohol and adultery; this caused his family to always be in dire need. Now he left the taxi company and is focusing on his farming business. His family is happy as they are planning and working together. Pray that Edson will commit to learning the Word of God so he may grow in faith.
- Pray for the family of Edson, pray for their crops to flourish and for their faith to grow.
When we start a new fellowship, one of our key pieces is to train someone to lead the group. We encourage this individual to read the Bible, share the Word and lead the prayers. They study through our leadership classes at Katobo.
The elders are hardworking, cooperative and mobilize many people to attend fellowships. They assist in cleaning the church and construction work. Confidence is in her late thirties, and her two daughters are in the choir. She reads the Bible in church and volunteers as an usher. Her children were suffering from a sickness of the leg-joints due to witchcraft, but after our prayers for them, they were healed. Her prayer request is for her husband to be saved.
- Pray for the leaders who are being trained to study hard, grow in their relationship with God and have compassion as they serve the people.
- Pray for the family of Confidence, for her daughters to stay healthy and for her husband to come to an understanding of salvation.
God set free the family of Medius and her children from demonic attacks and oppression. Medius is thirty-six, and her children are Trinah, eight-years, and Rebecca, twelve-years. Demons would attack the children often and cause them to convulse and foam at the mouth. Medius sought for her children’s healing by going to witchdoctors and worshipping at the shrines. We prayed continuously with them and saw God set their lives free. Medius life has changed, and she does not worship the spirits anymore but worships God the Almighty.
- Pray for Medius and her daughters, give thanks for their deliverance.
We reach out to the community through home visits, sharing the Word of God with them and encouraging them to join the fellowship in their communities where we emphasize learning the Bible. This month we visited eighty homes. Many of these people welcomed us and are excited about the idea of a fellowship in their community. In over seventy-percent of the homes we visited, the head of the household is the wife. The families are poor with so little land to cultivate, that the husbands leave to search elsewhere for jobs or to sell their labor to earn an income for their families. Some of them take a long time to return. One woman we visited is Serina, she enjoyed our visit and promised to keep fellowshipping with us.
- Pray for the people who hear the gospel to come to faith in Jesus Christ.
- Pray for families who are apart due to poverty, pray for them to be reunited and have opportunities to earn a living in the same community where their family lives.
October 2018
We extend our appreciation to our friends in the USA who have sacrificed their time in prayer for our ministry. Thank you for standing with us through your prayers and financial support. May God bless you all. Your prayers have blessed our ministry. We have seen expansion in the size of our church and now have ninety members. We are feeling pressured to get more seats because the chairs we have are no longer enough to accommodate everyone.
In Kinyamahwa, most of our members have a background in ancestral spirit worship. This methodology has so indoctrinated them that they find it hard to shift from a heathen way of thought to a Christian mindset even after coming to faith. We realize for this change in the thought patterns to take place; we need to continually teach the Word of God and provide detailed explanations of the way Christ teaches us to think. When funds are available, we are planning for a seminar.
- Pray for the church members and the transformation of their thinking patterns through the renewing of their minds from the teaching of God’s Word.
Frank is in his early forties and has a family of four boys and two girls. He was married, but his wife left him, and the children were scattered. After being saved, Frank started attending church and has settled down to work hard and clean his home. He is praying and hoping for his family to be restored from all the past hurts. He is a cooperative man and involved in every activity at the church. We are praying with him for his wife to come back and for his family to be together.
- Pray for God’s blessing on Frank’s desire for his family to be together again, and for his family to become believers.
We are encouraging people to become leaders in the church and to train in different ministry positions. Members from the church are also attending the Bible training at Katobo with other leaders from other churches. We see God using Mrs. Bahakanira to train and teach the youth how to behave appropriately in public and how they can be good examples while portraying the image of Christ.
Give thanks for the faithful service of the leaders in the church, especially Mrs. Bahakanira as he teaches the youth.
- Pray for the youth as they learn and grow in their characters to become more like Christ.
We travel from house to house visiting and preaching the Word of God. We find people in their homes and invite them to attend the home fellowships that close to them. This past month we visited seventy-eight homes and talked with fifty-four women and twenty-one men.
We recently encountered a man named Samuel. Samuel spent most of his time drinking and sleeping in bars. He only came home at night to fight with his wife and ask her for the money she earned for the children’s school fees. It was a tough situation. However, God is good because through our door-to-door evangelism, we reached him with the gospel message, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His life has changed, he has stopped drinking alcohol and started coming to church. Samuel has been a great testimony to the community among the people who knew him before his life changed. He now is using the money to buy iron sheets to roof his house and feed his family. We give glory to God for the impact of the church in the community.
- Pray for Samuel to find a job that will allow him to work hard and support his family.
- Pray for Samuel not to be tempted by his former lifestyle but to continue relying on God.
Kanuuma is being drawn to Christ. He has been facing a problem of witchcraft, the demons tormented him but whenever we prayed with him, he would have a good night’s sleep. When he did not come to the church, the demons would attack him again. This has led him to keep coming to church and attending the fellowship, but he has not yet given his life to the Lord.
- Pray for Kanuuma to come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and be permanently released from the bondage of the demons.
- Praise the Lord for the six fellowships that are faithfully meeting together and for the many people who attend these fellowships.
- Pray for land for the church.
September 2018
We baptized six people, two men, and four women. Praise the Lord! God is working in the community, drawing people to Himself, and transforming their lives. We thank God for the supporters of White Fields and for their prayers and financial support that enables us to serve the Lord in our community. May God bless you and reward you abundantly.
Gaston was a drunkard and had neglected to pay for his children’s school fees. He spent much of his time in the bars. After he was saved, he changed his ways and is working hard to support his family. His children are attending school, his wife is happy, and there is restoration and peace in their family. Praise the Lord!
Give thanks for the salvation of Gaston, pray for his faith to stay strong and for protection from the temptation of alcohol.
One of the families in our fellowship lives in a house built by the men of God’s Embassy. Lauben is married to Babra, and they have four children, between the ages of fifteen to five years. Lauben is a committed member of the church and reads the Bible during the sharing of the Word. His wife is in the choir, and the children are in the Young Ambassadors. Lauben and Babra sell labor to neighbors to make a living. They do not have enough land of their own to grow crops, so they rent land to cultivate. The children are not attending school due to the family’s financial inability to pay for the school fees. They testify that they had nowhere to live and God gave them a house. They are praying for jobs that will allow them to work hard, get out of poverty, and send their children to school.
- Pray for Lauben and Babra as they search for jobs that will enable them to support their family and send their children to school.
Give thanks for the house built by the men of God’s Embassy.
Our elders in the church are advancing the work of God, they encourage and mobilize people to come to the church or send their children to church to learn the Word and Christian songs. Mr. Behakanira is a great encourager who gathers many people to attend the meetings. He is instrumental in mobilizing and supporting people to work at the new church site. He requests prayer for his son’s salvation.
Give thanks for the people to whom God has given the gift of persuasion and encouraging people to attend church for the first time.
- Pray for Mr. Behakinara’s son, Evert, to come to an understanding of the gospel and profess salvation.
Our evangelism outreach ministry visited fifty homes and talked with two-hundred and thirty-two people. We have established five fellowships in the communities around the church. Elifaz is in his late twenties. He was spending much of his time at a place where they process local brew and drinking. After his salvation, he is working hard for his family, one of his children is attending school. Elifaz’ wife testifies about the transformation of her husband.
Give thanks for the transformation of Elifaz due to the power of the gospel.
- Pray for growth in his new faith and for the courage to stand against the temptations of visiting old habits.
Natukunda is the wife of Henry. God is drawing her to Himself. She has had two miscarriages; one pregnancy was twins. During our recent home visit, we prayed with her and requested God grant her wish to conceive again. She is considering giving her life to Jesus.
- Pray for Natukunda to make the final step of completely surrendering her life to Jesus Christ and to profess salvation.
- Pray for God to grant Natukunda’s desire to have children.
- Pray for our search to find land for a permanent home.
August 2018
We have seen our ministries grow. Our church has been busy with preparing for the music, dance and drama competition. The adults are building the church as we put up a new structure. The youth are using soccer as an outreach to the other youth. The children are training as young ambassadors, and their numbers are increasing. We continued our home visits and visited eighty-four families this past month. Through our visits, Theresa was touched by the gospel and is now a regular fellowship attender.
- Pray for the Sunday school structure to be built quickly, efficiently, and safely.
- Pray for the ministries to stay firmly grounded in the Word of God and to continue to grow.
- Pray for Theresa to continue growing in her faith.
Through our visits, we also met Steven who is in his mid-fifties. He was ill of a stomach ache that, according to him, only allowed him to eat roasted potatoes for the last twenty-five years. We prayed for him, and he was pleased. He said he would tell his Anglican friends too. Two weeks later, he came to the church to join us for service. He told us that he is eating other types of food now. We are praying for him to get saved soon.
- Pray for Steven to come to an understanding of salvation by grace alone and to be healed of his stomach ache. Pray for his conversations with Anglican friends to be blessed and bring more people to Christ.
In our village, some struggles arise and challenge the faith of the people in the church. One of these struggles comes from the people who travel around and call themselves prayer experts; they are witches and not Christians at all. These people are misleading others through their fortune-telling and claims to solve secular and spiritual problems. These false people are giving a bad picture of Christianity to the community and misrepresenting the body of Christ. Pray for us to overcome through the power of Jesus Christ and for people to know the truth.
The community we serve has a high percentage of people who are illiterate; they were not able to go to school because their parents were not able to afford it. Many of the adults in our church had this background and are struggling to afford to send their children to school. Few in our church can read or write, and there is a high dependence on witchcraft in the community. Through our fellowships, we are training our members to read the Bible and understand the Word of God.
- Pray with the church for these false prayer experts to be exposed as fakes.
- Pray for the church members to have discernment in seeing and explaining the difference between the false prayer experts and the prayers of Christians.
- Pray for the church members to persevere in learning how to read and for the teachers to have wisdom and discernment as they teach the Word of God.
Jackline is married to Mbanawe. They are peasants, the man processes local brew, and the wife cares for their garden. They live in a semi-permanent house and have four children, three girls and one boy, who all attend school. They are Catholic background, but since Jackline came to Christ, she is now a part of the church and is encouraging the rest of the family to join. She is an usher in our church with the gifts of hospitality and singing. Her prayer request is for her husband to surrender his life to Christ too.
- Pray with Jackline for Mbanawe to come to an understanding of the grace of God and be saved.
Abaho is a leader in our church and is married to Shallon. They have a boy and a girl. Abaho leads the games, especially soccer and is dedicated to teaching the youth how to work with their hands to sustain themselves. Shallon is directing drama in our church.
- Pray that Abaho and Shallon will be firm in Christ.
There is a man named Benard. He had vowed to kill his wife if she declared salvation in Jesus Christ. We visited him during our home visits and talked to him. We shared the story of Mary and Martha where Martha was busy preparing food while Mary sat listening to the teachings of Jesus, and how Jesus had said that Mary had chosen the right thing. Benard changed his mind, and now he comes to the church and is involved in the church activities.
- Pray for Benard to come to an understanding of the gospel and for his family life to be stable.
Zainabu is a widow who was a drunkard and always in the bar. After getting saved, she is now working hard and has been able to send her child to school and have enough food at home for her family. She even contributed twenty-two pounds of millet as lunch for the people working on the site of the Sunday school structure. Praise the Lord!
We see the power of the gospel in the life of Lydia as well. Her husband is old and not working. She used to brew alcohol but after getting saved, has left that job and is doing crop farming to sustain her family.
Give thanks for the transformative power of the gospel in the lives of individuals in the community.
- Pray for Zainabu and Lydia as they leave their old life and habits to start a new life as children of God. Pray for their daily needs to be supplied and for excess to bless their neighbors.
Give thanks for the provision for the church structure for the Sunday school and pray for the building process to go smoothly.
- Pray as we search for land and for God to bless our desire to buy a piece of land for the church.
July 2018
We have seen God at work. Seven people came to the Lord and were baptized this month after we shared the good news of the gospel with them during our home visits. These people are Kiconco, Sylvia K., Abel, Fiona, Mercy, Adrin, and Daphne. In my previous reports, I had shared Sylvia’s story and asked you to pray for her salvation. Thank you for your prayers.
This month, the men of the church have been active in helping church members whose living conditions were not favorable. They renovated Sylvia’s house, which was in bad shape. We thank God for the compassionate hearts being shown by our men and their desire to see others live better lives.
Give thanks for the baptism of the seven new believers.
Give thanks for the work of the men in the church and their witness to the community.
Bizimungu is seventy-five years old but very instrumental in our church due to his strong leadership skills. He leads our home fellowship on Monday. As an old man, many people consult him for guidance on many matters of life. His wife died and left five children, two daughters, and three sons. He lives with his son, who is a drunkard and has not been helpful to him. The rest of his children got married and only come to visit for a short time. He survives on a small piece of land where he built a house and grows some crops for food. He thanks the Lord for saving him from a motor accident that claimed the life of twenty-four people. They were traveling via minibus after preaching the Word of God and he was the only survivor.
- Pray for Bizimungu’s son to become curious about the gospel.
Give thanks for Bizimunug’s leadership to the community.
We are actively involved in leadership and discipleship training. We attend classes with Pastor Onesimus for Bible training and discipleship. We nurture members of the church by teaching them how to read and interpret the Bible contextually, for the right understanding of the Word of God. We encourage them to pray and develop their God-given gifts and talents for ministry.
- Pray for wisdom for Pastor Onesimus as he trains and teaches the pastors.
- Pray for the pastors to grow in their understanding and knowledge of God’s Word.
- Pray for understanding and spiritual growth of the members of the church.
Tukamushaba is a leader in our church who helps to mobilize and train the young ambassadors and ushers. She also leads the church choir, cleans the compound and cares for the flowers around the church. She is so zealous for the Lord and would take any opportunity to serve the Lord.
Give thanks for Tukamushabe’s ministry to our church.
- Pray for her to be strong in the Lord and to support her family so they can attend school.
Kenneth slept outside his house because he drank most of the night. We reached out to him and shared the gospel. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and since then, his life has changed, and his family is happy.
- Pray for Kenneth to grow in his faith.
When we first started, we were despised. Today there is a change in the community and we are now generally appreciated. When we visit homes in the community, people promise to visit the church and they send their children. Sylvia G. has allowed her four children to attend the church and has promised to join us soon.
Give thanks for the change in the community.
- Pray for Sylvia G. to join her children in attending the church.
We have a fellowship in Kengoma being led by David this past month, four people gave their lives to Christ. We are continuing to visit them and encourage them to remain rooted in Christ.
- Pray for the new believers in Kengoma.
- Continue to pray for land for the church. In my previous reports, I shared about our rental situation.
Spring 2018
A year ago, I started pastoring this church, and the Lord has given me mercy and steady growth. When I started, we had three families, and now we have seen twenty families join us. We still have families who attend without a spouse or child, or the child attends on their own, but the attendance is consistent.
Our leadership team is concentrating on studying the Bible amongst the adults; we want to ensure that a deep understanding of God’s word is communicated to all the people who have ears to hear.
Ellen is my wife, and we have both gone through a transformation that only God could do. In the past, I had many wives and children, and when Ellen and I got married, we had a lot of conflict because of my history. Ellen was rebellious and would not take care of all the children or attend church. Her negative attitude was affecting the family, the children started acting like her, and it made it difficult for me to concentrate on my new ministry. I continued to pray for my wife, and through counseling, the teaching of God’s word and helping her release the anger she felt, Ellen slowly started changing. God was transforming her heart, and she began to accept all our children and care for them and involved herself in the ministry. Now my family is happy and stable; I thanked God for His faithfulness. Our testimony is powerful in the community; a thief transformed by God’s grace to a Pastor and a rebellious wife to a supportive wife in ministry.
Flora is one of our church members who serves as an usher. She’s a widow and lives with her youngest son Onesimus who is part of the church choir. Flora works where she can find a job, and her son is still in school; he is seventeen years old. Flora came to the Lord through her daughter’s testimony who started attending our church and abandoned her former Anglican lifestyle. Flora’s main prayer request is for her to get enough work, so she can have enough money to pay for her son’s school fees, and a prayer for all her children to come to the Lord.
(2) People are getting saved with boldness to show their decision through baptism. This month we baptized seven people. Elizabeth was one of the seven and is married to Jeffrey.
She was baptized after seeing the transformation of her husband’s life. They have a baby girl who is seven months old. Jeffrey is responsible for the building and maintenance of the church structure and loves his ministry. He does manual labor to earn income to support his family. Before his conversion, Jeffrey experienced demonic attacks which made his life miserable. He says that his ancestors used to worship spirits locally known as a bachwezi. These spirits would possess him and cause him to fall down and even make utterances through him that would declare him to serve them and put alters up for them just as his grandparent used to do. They would also threaten to cause disaster and harm to his life if he did not respond to their demands. During one of our evangelism visits at his place, he had a demon attack, and people around called us to pray for him. We prayed for him, and he was delivered and gave his life to Christ. Ever since then, the demonic attacks stopped, and he is now a free man in Christ with his wife. His prayer request is that he may be a better minister of the Word of God and purchased a bigger space to build a house.
Recently the church experienced conflict with the landlord of our church building. The landlord refused to honor our lease agreement and told us to leave his land and move to another place. He was being forced by the Catholic Church to remove us from his property since he is a member of the Catholic Church. They said they would condemn him to hell if he allowed us to stay because many people are becoming born again believers in Jesus. We pleaded, and he allowed us to stay for a short time as we are looking for another place where we can construct a church structure or shade.
Deus is one of the committed young men in our church. He serves in the men’s ministry and also does home visits with us when he is not busy. Deus came to know the Lord when he arrived at our church asking for prayers because of stomach complications which started when he was in an accident. After praying for him, I shared the Word of God, and he accepted Jesus as His Lord and Savior.
Shaba had domestic violence issues for a long time. She came to church to get help because she wanted out of her marriage. However, we encouraged her to be strong and commit her family to the Lord through prayers. We shared the Word with her, and she surrendered her life to the Lord. We ministered to her and shared how to be a faithful Christian wife. Her life has changed, and she no longer experiences violence from her husband. Her prayer request is that her husband may come to know the Lord and be saved.
Colinalia is a member of the Catholic church but has been consistently coming to our church, he also brings his children to church as well. We believe the Lord is drawing him to Himself and Colinalia will soon give his life to Christ Jesus.
(3) Formerly our area was known as the place of spirit worshippers, alcoholics, fornicators, and murderers. People feared this place, but now we see how the Lord has changed people’s lives. Our land is beginning to see glimpses of grace through the believers who worship the living God our Lord Jesus Christ. Fourteen people professed faith in the Lord as their Savior this month, we give Christ all the Glory!
Edson and Scovia are part of our church; they have one child who is two years old. Edson used to suffer from ancestral spirit attacks before we prayed over him. When we met them, we prayed, and Edson was delivered! Scovia serves in the women’s ministry, and they both work in the community and farm their land. They thank the Lord who saved them and faithfully provides for their family. Their main prayer request is that they will be able to save enough money to build a bigger home for their family.
Abaho is one of the ministers that is showing significant improvement and is committed to the ministry and love for the word. He leads the men’s ministry and is very good at encouraging the men. He is married to Sharron, and they have two children, a girl, and a boy. Abaho sells coffee beans and Bananas. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when his child was delivered from a serious illness. She was brought to our church, and we prayed for her healing. Her stomach would swell, and she would have intestinal blockages. Abaho had spent a significant amount of money visiting both medical doctors and witch doctors, but his daughter did not get better. Abaho thanks the Lord for being merciful in delivering his child. When he gave his life to Christ, the rest of the family followed him to the church at God’s Embassy Kinyamahwa. His prayer request is that he may earn enough money to provide for their daily provision and school fees. He also had a challenge with the torrential rain we received this season. His house was damaged, and he is praying that he may earn enough money to reconstruct a better and more robust house for his family.
Nicklaus used to live a life characterized by demonic oppression. Spirits would attack him and cause him to collapse and even produce funny voices from him when he was unconscious. He visited a witch doctor to help him overcome this problem but instead was told that it was his mother who was bewitching him. The witch doctor asked him questions to try to help him get delivered, but the situation did not change. Nicklaus started hating his mother because he was told that his mother was the source of his problem, but through continuous visitations and sharing the Word of God with him, he forgave his mother and gave his life to Christ and got baptized. Since then he has been freed from the demonic oppression. He committed his life to serving God and reconciled with his mother. He is now praying that she will surrender her life to Christ. Nicklaus praises Jesus for changing his life.
As the church, we are reaching out to the community through door to door evangelism. Our focus is to spread the gospel and share the word of God. This month we visited ten homes, and 24 people heard our message. We had an overnight event where we had four guest preachers speak. They were Pastor Robinson, Pastor Jackson, and Pastor John Bosco preached a powerful message to the people. Around 200 people show up, and during the event, twelve people professed faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Isaac is a 15-year-old who has shown interest in the word of God and our church. He has not made a profession of faith, but I am confident that he will. We met Isaac during one of our home visits, and his mother did not like us because she is Catholic. Isaac started following us and even attended a church service. My prayer is that he will accept Jesus as his savior and that his family will accept him.
(4) We see God at work changing lives through various home fellowships as we study God’s word. Because of the increasing interest from the people in our village we created a fourth fellowship in the surrounding area. Our congregation has grown from 78 people to 100. We have men, women, youth, and children that attend weekly. We are praying for God’s provision for a bigger space to accommodate all the people as well as for the many more the Lord will bring. Recently we had four people accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and they were baptized as well. Our prayer is that they will keep growing in their faith and knowledge of God’s word.
The men are volunteering by cleaning up the homes of some of the church members that need help. This month the men assisted a member named Stuart. They helped him improve his house structure and will help complete his roof once purchases iron sheets.
The women are doing vocational training, making woven baskets, shopping bags, and mats. Every woman is encouraged to learn at least one of the mentioned skills to help them earn an income. The women meet every Saturday afternoon led by my wife, Hellenah. The young people attend choir practice and dance choreography group known as Kingdom steppers. They train in various songs to present during our Sunday service. They meet every Wednesday and Saturday from 3 pm to 5 pm and are led by Junior.
Our community has a large brewery and alcoholism is a huge problem. It causes many family problems including domestic violence. We struggle to convince people of the danger of addiction and how it ruins the home. Drinking is prevalent, please help us pray for our community.
We have a family of 8 that attends the church, six children with the eldest being 18 years old and the youngest 12. Dad and Mom are 70 and 64 years old. They live in a three-roomed iron sheet house and depend on subsistence farming where they rent land on which they grow food and pay the landowners. Their strength is their zeal to share the gospel with others. Our prayer is that the children will be drawn to Christ and that God will continue to give strength to their parents so they can continue to support their children in school.
We praise the Lord for our church in Kinyamahwa and are increasing in numbers. We praise God for the visitors who gave us Bibles and other gifts which became a testimony to the community that our church is part of a large body of Christ.
(5) We met a woman named Sylvia who is 54 years old. She gave birth to 7 children 4 of whom died, two others disappeared, and the remaining one is not going to school. They do not have money for school fees. She believed the source of her problems was because of the family spirits and a curse from the priest of the family shrine. So, when she came to our fellowship, and we started praying with her, one of the two boys who had disappeared for seven years, came back home and the other one called her on the phone. The child who was not going to school was helped by the church and is now enrolled in school. Please continue to pray that Sylvia and her family will be drawn into a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We have initiated a system of helping each other as Christians in our communities, for instance, we help each other one day at a time. For young people, we encourage them to join the Kingdom Steppers to dance for the Lord. The younger children join the Young Ambassadors to sing for the Lord.
We continue to come into adversity and conflict with leaders and rulers who attempt to distort the truth and lead people astray. The religious leaders do home visits in the same homes we visit and change the message we share with the people. They threaten the people and tell them they should not leave the religion of their parents because the Bible says false prophets will come in the last days. So, they say that any faith that is not their own is wrong.
Jackson and his wife are farmers who have one child who is six years old. Jackson’s wife was sick and had stomach pains for about six months during which time she came to the church, and we prayed with her. The Lord answered our prayers, and she has regained her strength and is now in good health. She gave her life to Christ and was baptized, but her husband was furious and refused to allow her to become a member of our church. We still pray that the Lord will soften Jackson’s heart and let her come to church.
Florence is 55 years old and has eight children. Her husband passed away about 12 years ago. Her daughters are grown and have married while her boys still live at home. Ever since she surrendered her life to Christ, she began dedicating herself to hard work and is now able to support her sons in school. Florence is the treasurer and chief usher in our church. She has a gift of counseling and encouraging other women. Her prayer request is that the Lord gives her strength to continue providing for the school fees of her children.
