December 2015
Last November, the Happy Horizon children’s ministry extended their ministry to Tajao Christian Fellowship. The ministry distributed shoes in the town of Pinamungajan. The sitios that were the recipients of the shoe ministry were Sitio Campo, Sitio Laric, Sitio Poblacion, and Sitio Mabini-2. White Fields note: A sitio is a smaller area that makes up part of a barangay, or community. Each sitio received 100 pairs of shoes. It is a great blessing for the community because the recipients are the poorest of the poor in the town of Pinamungajan. The children were not only blessed with the material, but with the Word of God, through counseling, as well. The Happy Horizon’s coordinator, Pastor Glen Garison, is doing the ministry for the church without any strings attached. We cater the ministry, in partnership with them, to win souls for Jesus Christ. A blessing of the ministry is that the children will now have their shoes to use in school. Also, the parents have been our contacts for the regular Bible study; altogether, they have twenty children. We now have parents successfully attending the church worship. Glory to God!
- Please pray for this outreach as a Singaporean visitor is coming soon that’s wants to minister to the children in this area. Pray for the openness of the Gospel.
- Please also pray that there will be another church built here.
- Please pray for the upcoming release of the shoes ministry as they will be given to another area.
The outreach ministry in Mabini is three months old in December. The ministry now has a food ministry and Bible study. The parents have become close to us because of the gardening and farming project. My garden is a good example to encourage them to start gardening because now I have started harvesting vegetables. The project is a blessing for the farmers because of the idea of gardening and as well as the effectiveness in sharing Jesus Christ with them. A farmer named Jonathan and his wife Helen received Christ in their lives. Their family is a big family with twelve children; they have a close family relationship. Their children are the beneficiaries of our feeding program. The entire family converted to the Christian faith as a result of my wife building a close relationship with them. This family trusts my wife in the feeding program and became a part of it. They now have rotating duties each week for the cooking of the food for the feeding program. In December, Jonathan and Helen will celebrate their thanksgiving in the Lord. It is a celebration with the all the members in the family. The family is now coming to church with their children. Praise the Lord! The church is now increasing in number and most of them are young people.
- Please pray for the new converts, Jonathan and Helen, and their family thanksgiving celebration.
Last November, there was a festival to celebrate Jesus here in Cebu. All Christians gathered together for prayer and worship of our God. The celebration was held at CICC (Cebu International Convention Center). My family joined the parade and prayer time. The gathering was estimated at ten thousand Christian people from Evangelical churches. It was a special day for my family as we brought our prayer requests to God and also prayed for our nation and Israel together. Glory to God!
