The demonstration of compassion by the members of God’s Embassy Church in Rukungiri is causing an impact throughout the whole community. White Fields came alongside the church members by providing two brick making machines and resources to buy materials. The first project they wanted to accomplish during the training phase was to build a house for Christine. To fully understand this act of compassion, you must know the background of Christine.
Christine was married into a family that worshipped evil spirits. They dedicated her to some of the spirits as an act of sacrifice. Christine was tormented by the spirits and suffered terrible convulsions and other unspeakable acts of cruelty. During one of the convulsions, she fell into the fire. Her face, badly scarred became a disgusting reminder to the family of their profane worship. The family took this as a sign that the spirits were unsatisfied with Christine, and they threatened her saying that the demons would destroy her if she abandoned their service. The family also cast her away because of this event and no longer provided for her.
Christine ran to the church for help. There she found hope in the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She placed her faith in Jesus and received reconciliation with God and a cleansing of her life. She no longer suffers from convulsions. But, she was homeless and destitute. The church became her family. She was moving around to different homes and working as a laborer, digging, or hauling heavy loads for a few dollars a day. Then the members of the church asked if they could use the brick making machine to build Christine a house.
Usually, the process to make bricks and build a house would require six or seven months to form the bricks the traditional way and would then require weeks to lay the bricks into a house. This new process White Fields has introduced into Rukungiri needed only two weeks. This new process was incredible and opened a tremendous opportunity to become a display to the local government officials both for the innovation technology, but also to show the gracious compassion that members of the church demonstrated by giving a house to Christine.

She was obviously a low-level person on the economic status and would never be able to repay the church members, and she was receiving not a stick and mud house, but a permanent structure built with bricks, a metal door, and glass windows.
Many members of the church came to help. The act of compassion became a testimony to neighbors and community members all around. Aunts and Uncles who lived far away made the journey visiting the project themselves to find out if it was true what they had heard that a church was building a house for Christine. They did not think it could be real that a church would build a permanent house out of bricks for Christine. Every day members of the church came to work, carrying bricks and digging the footings for the walls.
The project also became a great training exercise for the new brick making machines and for some of the church members to experience mason labor learning how to lay the bricks and make the walls. This teamwork with Connect Africa (The ministry we partner with in Uganda for the building training) and the members of God’s Embassy is what makes your support and partnership through White Fields Ministry to profitable. We multiply the donations we receive by creating a successful network between the local church and other ministries. This brings the skills of many different believers together to help get the work done.
Everyone from the church filled a role including labor, digging, and even preparing food so everyone else was kept nourished during the building. The house, from beginning to make the bricks until the roof was installed took about three weeks. That’s partly because the process works well and because so many people came out and worked.
Keeping people fed was a big job and many ladies helped prepare the food. Your partnership helps local churches express the gospel through their own acts of compassion. The demonstration of the love of Jesus makes a huge impact on their local community.

The community leaders came to rejoice with the church members and commission the new house as a place for Christine to live. She has already opened her home to some other local children of a family that needed a place to live. She is passing along the love and ministry that she has received to other people in need.
