The Prime Minister of Uganda has commissioned the Graceland Academy on behalf of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The school has made tremendous progress from its early days in wood-slat buildings on dirt floors. The Board of Directors of White Fields is committed to advancing the Great Commission through God’s grace and wisdom. We confidently embrace each new project’s journey, knowing the Lord will guide us to where we need to be. The progress at Graceland Academy Primary School is a genuine demonstration of God’s plan taking shape.
I first met Pastor Onesimus, our Field Director in Uganda, at the Christian radio station in San Diego. He was finishing a seminary degree and returning to Rukungiri, Uganda, to serve the Lord. We shared our passion and philosophy for starting churches in unreached, remote villages. We discovered that God was leading us to accomplish the same task and that our strategies were similar. We have been on the radio together numerous times. That first meeting occurred nearly twelve years ago.
Fast Forward Twelve Years
On May 16, 2025, Prime Minister Rt. Honorable Robinah Nabanjja, along with the Minister of Security, Hon. Jim Muhwezi, and members of Parliament for Rukungiri, Dr. Erisa Rutahirwa, Midius Kaharata, and Kyomukama Geoffrey, all visited our Graceland School, the Bible College Library, the Medical Center, and the Vocational Training Institute. The President of Uganda had sent them to commission the education ministries and acknowledge that the government appreciated the donors who made these training institutes possible.
The Government Leaders Visit GracelandPlanting a Tree Marking Future CooperationPrime Minister, Rt. Honorable Robinah Nabanjja
The government leaders expressed their appreciation for the Medical Center, the schools, and, above all, the Library. They expressed that they have not seen such a well-equipped theological library in Uganda. The prime minister’s office promised to advocate for support in the medical and skills center. Many of the Church leaders expressed the hope that young pastors can study at the Bible College. The cooperation between government and church leaders will significantly improve the lives of countless people in the surrounding regions.
Government Leaders and Pastors Serving the Citizens
The Bible defines the government’s relationship to its citizens as providing safety and peace. The churches in the community work alongside one another, providing education and ministry to families and proclaiming God’s truth for living. These two groups of leaders need to cooperate to provide the best possible future for the citizens.
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:1-2
By God’s Grace, Thousands Gathered
Pastor Onesimus hosted the culmination at the stadium, where, on this occasion, six districts and three municipalities gathered over five thousand people. Born Again Church leaders gathered with the principal government leaders to share the hope for a safe and prosperous community.
The event was a tremendous encouragement, so much so that leaders from Congo crossed the border through Kisoro to ask for training partnerships for the pastors in their districts.
Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. Titus 3:1-2
The Choir Leads Worship.
The attendees enjoyed worship with the choir, and many leaders came to request prayer so that God would grant them the wisdom to be good leaders. When we began constructing the first classroom building, we started by making one brick. Over the years, God has allowed our masons and construction workers to build facilities full of people rising to heights they had only once dreamed of.
Thank you to all our friends and partners who once saw the vision and helped us make that first brick. There is so much more ahead of us in the ministry. The next generation will grow up reading and studying the Bible in English and using the Library as a regular education habit.
A Long Time Ago . . .We didn’t imagine all God would do.
Pray: We continue to advocate for pastoral training. Uganda Bible College and the theological library are tools to help ground African pastors in sound doctrine. Many of these pastors need training. They are on the bandwagon of Pentecostalism. UBC can play a vital role in shaping the sound theological landscape in our region and beyond.
Pray: We are currently supporting twenty-five church planters. To ensure their success, we need trained pastors. By utilizing the library for their studies, these educated pastors will learn how to accurately interpret and share the Word of Truth. As a result, many more people will hear the message and come to faith.
Pray: We are strategically working to find innovative ideas that make these churches sustainable by empowering the congregants through income-generating projects. Poverty Solutions through White Fields is making a difference and transforming the entire community.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
