Lun Htin

God is faithful in keeping His children all the time. Just like the Scripture says, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” (Psalm 34:7). Though fighting has been taking place in our area, God protects us from all evil. Praise the Lord.

The latest update from Pastor Lun is that the military has shut down the movement for all village members. They may not travel to their fields; they must stay in the village. White Fields was able to send funds to provide payment to purchase a plot of land for Pastor Lun. Now, we are praying to gather about $5,000 to get materials to build a simple wood slat house for the family with a room large enough to host the church.

Since the end of May, my family has moved out from the school building we were living in and are now staying in a tent out in a field about one mile away from the village. This happened because the school opened on June 1, and the building was not available for us anymore.

My members and visitors have been coming to our tent and conducting worship service every Sunday since the first week of June. We are praying hard to be able to build a new house for our church worship service and my family residence. Thank you for your prayers and help. We hope that the Lord will provide our needs for it.

The people in my village have been doing their fieldwork and staying in their fields mostly, so I visit them and pray for them regularly. I also have been able to share the gospel with those who did not believe in Jesus. I hope that the Lord may open their hearts and eyes to know and see the living and true God and that they may come to know the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Since we have been facing many difficulties, such as fighting and famine, please continue to pray for us so that God may protect all of our members and provide for our daily food. Please pray that people may open their hearts to listen about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  • Give thanks to God for keeping us safe from all kinds of evils.
  • Please pray hard for church land. We urgently need to build a new building because we have no place to live or conduct worship service.
  • Please pray for the opportunity to reach new people around us.
  • Please pray for our country. We need peace and freedom.

I want to say my thanks to you all for your prayers and financial support. Without your support, my church planting work would not be possible. I receive your support in time every month. May God bless you all.

The Testimony of Pastor Lun

I was born in Kanpalet Town, Southern Chin State, Myanmar. My parents are Rev. Tin Saw and Daw Lay Thung. I have three sisters and three brothers. My father served as a church planter in our town, supported by White Fields. He always told us about God and the salvation of Jesus Christ since my earliest childhood memories. I helped with my father’s church planting work growing up. I regularly attended children’s Sunday school and education programs from kindergarten to high school in Kanpalet town, Chin State. I am married to Ma Pan Tan and have two children.

Eventually, my conversion and calling by God for His full-time service happened when I was nineteen. After that, I grew up clearly understanding the love of God and the salvation of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins by His death on the cross.

After the coup establishing a military government as the regime in our country in February 2021, we were all in a challenging situation. The military suspected many young people of resistance, and they were arrested everywhere in our state. As such, I was also arrested in November 2021 and suffered some torture by soldiers. I thank God that I was released after a short stay in jail. I spent one week in jail. Within that one week, I received the call of God for His full-time service, and I dedicated my life and committed to the church planting ministry in our area. I know that many of our people do not know Jesus and His Salvation story through the gospel of Jesus Christ. That deeply moved me while I spent the week in jail. “I promised God that if I am released from jail, I will serve you as long as I live.” Upon my release, I immediately began serving with White Fields pastors to find an area that needed a new church.

That is when I was introduced to the Auh Mwe Tung village. I was brought to serve the Lord in this village, a very rural and undeveloped village in Kanpalet township. Twenty-seven families reside in the village; only four are Christian. They are Kanpalet tribes, mostly Buddhists and a few Animists. Pastor Tha Khup (A White Fields Regional Evangelist and father of Pastor Solomon) first reached the village with the gospel. At first, only one family had accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Pastor Tha Khup and a group of evangelists from Pastor Solomon’s church continued evangelizing them, so now, these four families need a church.

The village is located on a mountain range. There is no vehicle road; only a motorbike can go. The village is seven miles from Kanpalet, but it has very rough terrain, and it isn’t easy to get there; we need to travel on foot. Please pray for my family and me.

Donate to Provide Building Supplies

We will live in the village. We have no house, but the village leaders will allow us to stay in the schoolhouse until we can build our own home. We pray to build a house for my family and a worship house for the church.
