Joy After Seven Years of Waiting
Kigaaga – Pastor Katungye Nicholas
For seven years, Sylvia and her husband, Seth, longed for a child. Their waiting brought deep pain, shame, and tension into their home. In desperation, they spent much of their money seeking help from witch doctors, but their situation only became more difficult. Sylvia faced rejection and was labeled as barren, leaving her discouraged and stripped of dignity.
During our home visits, we shared the Word of God with Sylvia and Seth and encouraged them to place their trust in the living God. We continued to visit, pray with them, and strengthen their faith. Three months later, Sylvia joyfully told us that she was pregnant. We prayed for God’s protection over her and the unborn child, and in His faithfulness, she later gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
Today, Sylvia and her family are filled with joy, peace, and thanksgiving. She testifies that God has removed her shame, restored her dignity, and answered the prayers of their hearts. Their story is a beautiful reminder that God sees our pain, hears our prayers, and remains faithful in every season.
Rebuilding More Than a Home
Garuka – Pastor Frankson Matskoge
When strong winds destroyed Lydia and Mathias’s temporary home, their family was forced to rent a house near a trading center. During this difficult season, Mathias began spending time with harmful influences and fell into excessive drinking. Despite the strain on their family, Lydia remained faithful in prayer. She continued working in her gardens and trusted God to provide the resources they needed to rebuild.
God blessed Lydia’s labor with an abundant rice harvest of approximately one ton. After selling the rice, she was able to begin reconstructing their home, which is now nearing completion. As the house was rebuilt, God also brought restoration within the family. Mathias stopped drinking and began working alongside Lydia.
Today, the family is united and joyful. They thank God not only for providing a new home, but also for restoring their marriage and bringing peace back into their household. Their testimony is a powerful reminder that God can rebuild far more than what has been physically lost.
Finding a Family in Christ
Kibarama – Pastor Deus Turinawe
After the death of her husband, Beatress was left to care for her three grandchildren while surviving through casual labor and farming rented land. Grief and loneliness weighed heavily on her, and she eventually turned to alcohol for relief. She also described hearing troubling voices that drove her to wander outside, deepening her fear and isolation.
Although Beatress was initially hesitant to receive the Gospel because of past feelings of rejection, the church continued visiting her with patience, prayer, and encouragement from God’s Word. Over time, her heart softened. She came to church with her grandchildren for prayer and surrendered her life to Jesus Christ.
Today, Beatress no longer drinks and faithfully serves as an usher. Her grandchildren participate in the Sunday School choir, and together they have found a loving church family. She now testifies that God has replaced her loneliness with peace, joy, and renewed hope.
A Transformation That Brought Her Husband Home
Kiburasano – Pastor Posiano Turyomurugyendo
Sarah’s struggle with alcoholism led to deep conflict within her family and eventually caused her husband to leave their home. During visits from the church, she heard the Gospel, repented, and surrendered her life to Jesus Christ. She stopped drinking and committed herself to a new life in Him.
When Sarah’s husband saw the transformation in her life, he returned home. Today, their family has been restored, and they are living peacefully and working together through subsistence farming. Sarah gives thanks to God for changing her life and bringing her family back together.
Remembered in Her Old Age
Ruteete – Pastor Godius Tindiwensi
Provia is a 78-year-old widow who lives with her two grandchildren. For many months, they lived in a house so badly damaged by strong winds and termites that it was in danger of collapsing. Concerned for their safety, Provia faithfully prayed to God to provide them with a secure place to live.
God answered her prayers through her adult children, who live in Kampala. After learning how dangerous the house had become, they returned home and worked together to build Provia a new three-room house.
Provia joyfully shared her testimony with the church, thanking God for remembering her in her old age. Many in the village had witnessed her hardship, but now they can also see God’s faithfulness through the safe new home He provided for her and her grandchildren.
A Small Piglet, a Lasting Source of Hope
Rukungiri Township – Pastor Onesimus Ngoboka
Alexander Muhoozi and his family were struggling to meet their daily needs when the church provided them with a piglet as a livelihood project. That small gift became a powerful source of provision. As the pig multiplied, producing eight to thirteen piglets at a time, Alexander was able to sell some of them to purchase household necessities, contribute toward school expenses, and provide greater stability for his family.
The project has also strengthened the family’s farming. They use the manure to improve the soil in their coffee and banana gardens, resulting in better crops and greater productivity. What began as one piglet has developed into a sustainable source of income and renewed hope.
Alexander’s testimony has also opened doors for sharing the Gospel throughout the community. His family gives thanks to God for using this practical act of Christian love to uplift their household and demonstrate His provision to others.
